OYO: APC Youth League Slams Makinde over ‘Reckless Borrowing’, Supports Lawmaker, Shittu • Group Announces ”Tinubu Loyalty Walk’

The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress Youth League (APCYL) has condemned Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration for what it terms “reckless and excessive borrowing”, warning that such actions jeopardise the state’s economic stability.

During a press conference in Ibadan, the group held the PDP-led government accountable for its perceived failures in critical sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, and local government autonomy. The APCYL accused Governor Makinde of neglecting pressing developmental issues while allegedly pursuing an “unrealistic presidential ambition” and engaging in wasteful expenditures.

The league also voiced support for Hon. Ibrahim Shittu, the lawmaker representing Saki West State Constituency, calling for protection against alleged political intimidation due to his opposition to the current borrowing practices.

Additionally, the APCYL announced the Tinubu Loyalty Walk, set for Saturday, October 4, 2025, to demonstrate their backing for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the broader progressive movement.

Emphasising the importance of unity within the Oyo APC, the youth wing urged reconciliation among aggrieved members, increased youth inclusivity, and a fair playing field as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.

The statement, signed by State Coordinator Engr. Ayobami Dagilogba and State Publicity Secretary Hon. Akanni Muhammed O., reaffirmed the APC Youth League’s commitment to fortifying the party and securing a victory for the APC in Oyo State in 2027.
