Oyo Central 2023: Senatorial Hopeful, Bimbo Kolade Meets Elders, Stakeholders in Visits Akinyele LGA – Adewale Adebambo Reports.

It is no longer gain saying that Bimbo Kolade is a candidate to beat in Oyo Central senatorial district of Oyo state.

With his popularity soaring on a daily basis among party faithful and the electorates, at large, it is not surprising that the former commissioner was well received by the leaders, elders and critical stakeholders of Akinyele Local Government Area(LGA) of Oyo Central senatorial district, at the their party office.

In his speech, Mr Dijo Ogundiran a member of Elders Forum in Afijio Local Government who was one of elders on the entourage of Bimbo Kolade, appealed to the entire local government to accept their son. In his words “We are here to seek your collaboration and support for our son from Afijio Local Government.

Bimbo Kolade is a core progressive, loyal, committed and an enigma who stands with the party since inception without any history of defection despite all odds. When others left the party in 2019, Bimbo remained in the party and supported his rival to emerge Oyo Central senatorial candidate.

Addressing the audience, Hon. Bimbo Kolade appreciated all elders, leaders and stakeholders including the local excos, ward chairmen present for accepting him in their midst. In his words “I have been on this quest for a while now and it is my desire for you all to be compassionate on my ambition and support me with the ticket as we approach 2023 general election.

He continued,”I am here to specifically inform the stakeholders about my ambition to contest for Senate come 2023 and I publicly apologise to those seemed aggrieved with me personally and the party in its entirety to work together as one big family.

In his response on behalf of Akinyele Local Government, Alh. Mukaila Ambali a former LG chairman recalled the support Hon. Bimbo Kolade rendered while in office as commissioner in facilitating and fast tracking proposals brought before him for implementation before the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi. He emphasized “Bimbo is a good man”.

Others who spoke at the event were Hon. Murphy Adigun (Murphy Akinyele), a former state house of assembly member representing Akinyele constituency and the Senatorial Chairman of the party; Hon. Joshua Oyebamiji (Atiku) also spoke at the event.

In his speech, Hon. Murphy Adigun appreciated the Federal Commissioner at RMAFC, Abuja for recognising the local government to visit. He lauded that the unity of the party should be priority for all aspirants to work towards for the overall success of the party. In his own response, the senatorial chairman noted “we have our candidate but we told him to hold on that it’s the turn of Oyo to produce senatorial candidate of the party”. He admonished Hon. Bimbo Kolade to go and do the needful as primary approaches.

Other leaders of the party present were elder Femi Akande, Alh. Mukaila Ambali, Engr Idowu Olaniyan, Elder Akinyele, Baba Aregbesola and Baba Akingbade.

Others were Engr Akinbode Emmanuel (Party Chairman), Rasak Ganiyu (Vice), Omobolaji Olawuwo (Secretary), Alh. Mutiu Adeyemo (PRO), Mrs Oshunbumi (Women leader) and others.

They all unanimously agreed to support and see to the emergence of Bimbo Kolade as the party candidate for the 2023 election in Oyo central senatorial district.

On the entourage of Hon. Bimbo Kolade were Alh. Ramoh, Hon. Gbade Adeyemo, Party Chairman Afijio LGA; Baba M.O Lala, Hon. Tunde Ojo, Hon. Abel, Alhaji Owoade, Alh (Baale) Ajenikoko, Hon. Aderemi Adeniyi (Pico), Alhaja Bakare, Mrs Shittu, Hon. Adelabu, Mrs Opajobi amongst others.
