Oyo: Concerned APC Members Counter Rumours Against Florence Ajimobi, Slams Slanderers.
Some concerned members of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Oyo-State have dispelled a rumour peddled against former first Lady of the state, Chief(Dr) Florence Ajimobi ,that she is making move to halt one Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu’s chairmanship aspiration of the Party, APC.
This is contained in a press release issued by the concerned progressive members and which was made available to the newsmen by their spokesperson, ‘Kunle Ogunleke, today in Ibadan.
The full press release goes thus;”Our attention has just been drawn to the news story allegedly credited to one Hon. Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu. In his diatribes, he castigated the trio of Mrs. Florence Ajimobi, Mrs. Hannah Ogunesan and Mr. Lekan Alli to the effect that they are working against his ill fated bid to emerge as the state Chairman of Oyo APC.
“We could have dismissed Omodewu’s insinuations with a wave of hand, but, for posterity’s sake, this response has become a necessity. More so, when falsehood is allowed to thrive for so long, it may assume the status of truth. Specifically, he alleged that Mrs. Florence Ajimobi actually made nocturnal visits to the residences of former Governors Alao Akala and Rasheed Ladoja respectively to frustrate his chairmanship ambition.
“A sage said and we quote;”When time passes over one’s good and kind gestures to a man, the latter’s mad or insane instincts make him to forget easily and get armed with a status of an ingrate’. This is apt in describing Omodewu’s new position against the family of his benefactor, Late Gov. Abiola Ajimobi.
“Omodewu’s meteoric rise in Oyo state politics today was catalysed by Late Gov. Ajimobi. After his inglorious sojourn in USA, Omodewu found favour in the political mentorship of Late Gov. Ajimob.
“Omodewu was in Governor Ajimobi’s Cabinet as Commissioner for lands for good eight years; the records are there to show his improved fortunes and comfort. This is story for another day.
“Thereafter, he had ventured into many schemes —-Governorship , Deputy Governorship and State Chairmanship respectively. Well, he has not committed any crime by being overtly ambitious. But, blaming his political misfortunes on the innocent people is a crime against humanity.
“In his desperate bids to become politically relevant through these pursuits, he had been scammed several times losing millions of naira to the political merchants.
One can only pity him for being clever by half. For the matured minds, Deputy Governorship shot is non-contestable. But, Omodewu’s desperation knew no bounds in this regard. First, he pitched his tent with Bayo Adelabu and later switched over to Teslim Folarin’s camp in search of Deputy Governorship slot.
“Now, he has just woken up from his slumber, that the state Chairmanship slot fits his him. He is now a toy in the hands of those political merchants. They control his political activities and journeys having discovered his weakness as a desperate political office seeker. While wishing Omodewu the best, he should desist from the habit of making wild and unfounded allegations against his imaginary opponents, whenever he is confronted with misfortunes”, they warned.
