Oyo FCC Boss Aleshinloye Visits Three Federal Institutions, Calls for Continued Transparency, Balanced Representation

The Federal Character Commissioner, Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye MDII, today embarked on a working visit to three key federal institutions in the state: the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology and the Federal College of Agriculture.

The visit was aimed at assessing compliance with the Federal Character principle, particularly in the areas of recruitment, staff distribution, and equitable representation across all levels within the institutions.

Prince Aleshinloye commended the management of the institutions for their contributions to national development, especially in advancing agricultural research, training, and innovation.

Aleshinloye emphasised the importance of adhering strictly to the Federal Character mandate to ensure fairness, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities for all Nigerians.

The commissioner further encouraged the institutions to maintain transparency in their recruitment processes and to continue fostering unity through balanced representation.

The Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the Federal Character Commission under the leadership of Hon. Ayo Hulayat Omidiran to promoting equity and justice in public service, noting that such visits would be sustained to strengthen compliance and accountability.

In his response, the acting provost of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Dr Chidi Okpeze, described the visit as timely and commendable, noting that it underscores the commitment of the Federal Character Commission to promoting equity, fairness, and national unity in federal establishments.

The Provost of the Federal College of Agriculture, Prof. Jeremiah Atungwu, expressed profound appreciation to the Federal Character Commissioner, Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye, for his official working visit to the institution. He affirmed that the college remains fully aligned with the principles of the Federal Character policy, particularly in the areas of recruitment, staff distribution, and career development. He assured the commissioner that the institution operates an open and transparent system that promotes inclusiveness and equal opportunity for all Nigerians.

The Executive Director of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Prof. Gabriel Oluwatosin, warmly received the delegation of the Federal Character Commission during its working visit to the institution, expressing appreciation for the Commission’s commitment to promoting equity and national unity.

The Registrar commended the leadership of the Commission, particularly the Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye, for his dedication to ensuring compliance with the federal character principle across federal establishments.
