Oyo LG Admin : You Can’t Conduct Election Now – Adesokan Tackles Makinde .
The Deputy National Secretary of Nigeria Councilors Forum who is also the Oyo state Chairman of Councilors Forum, Honourable Adesoji Adesokan has told Oyo State Government led by Engr Seyi Makinde that they can not conduct Local Government election now since the matter of Local Government Administration in the state is still under litigation.
Adesokan stated this while featuring on a live Television program in Ibadan yesterday.
He reiterated that; ” Engr Makinde led government can not conduct elections into the Local Government Areas now as the matter is still under litigation in the Supreme Court” .
Adesokan further explained that ; ” Constituting OYSCIEC has no correlation with the pending case in law court , even, if He has settled the present OYSIEC members out of court which I am yet to confirm , his administration can’t conduct council elections now. Meanwhile, I am aware that the present OYSIEC members have also approached the law court challenging their purported sack and I don’t think that the issues have been amicably resolved “.
Hon. Soji Adesokan further clarified that OYSIEC constituted by Engr Makinde has no legitimacy under the purview of constitutional democracy and rule of law to function until the pending case in Supreme Court is concluded .
Deputy National Secretary, Adesokan advised Engr. Seyi Makinde to pay more attention to the basic responsibilities of the government which are security and welfare of the people . He also encouraged Gov. Makinde to fulfill His campaign promises.
