Oyo LG Poll: Thugs Lay Siege On Courts, Prevent APC Lawyers From Gaining Entrance
Lawyers handling the All Progressives Congress, APC, case against the conduct of Saturday’s local government election in Oyo state, have been prevented from gaining entrance to the Oyo high court, OYOINSIGHTS.COM.
A senior lawyer who spoke to the newspaper but who did not want name mentioned, said that he was informed by junior colleagues who were in court to seek injunction against the planned election.
According to the senior lawyer, thugs had besieged the frontage and adjoining streets of the courts at Ringroad and Iyaganku as early as 7 am.
“Three lawyers and one administrative staff from the Chambers of Seun Abimbola (SAN) and Kunle Sobaloju were attacked on the way to the Office of the Chief Registrar by suspected PDP thugs in an attempt them to prevent from filing necessary papers to stop the illegal LG poll slated for this Saturday…” one of the APC chieftains added.
Africano Trumpeters Newspaper recalled that the APC had, yesterday, announced plan to stop the conduct of the election over allegation of non-inclusion in the election.
