Oyo LG Election: Hon. Oke-Aare Aina Commends APC Candidates, Calls Them Heroes of Democracy.
An influential chieftainess of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Honourable Oke-Aare Aina, popularly known as “JEGA” has commended the APC candidates who took part in the just concluded Oyo State Local Government election.
The APC stalwart and a women leader in Nigeria from Oluyole Federal Constituency described the APC candidates as heroes of democracy for their bravery and gallant behaviour regardless of the election outcome, which was manipulated by the People’s Democracy Party under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Hon. Oke-Aare appreciated the APC leaders for their efforts geared towards the election, which made the APC prove a solid point about not being a pushover despite the disenfranchisement of many electorates.
Also, Oke-Aare showered encomiums on the members of the party who made sure that the APC made a statement, lauded the faithful, and maintained that they were the true winners and heroes of democracy. She encouraged them to continue in their quest to ensure true democracy in the country after a show of shame, which was called an election marred by obvious manipulations of results and irregularities by Governor Seyi Makinde’s PDP.
While concluding, Oke-Aare reminded Gov. Makinde that he would not be the governor forever and charged the governor to prevail on OYSCIEC to cancel yesterday’s local government polls and reorder fresh elections.
