Oyo North : Buhari Facilitates Capacity Development Training for Constituents , Donates Cash, Computers, Tools .
No fewer than 180 participants have smiled home with cash prices, personal computer tablets and phone repair working tools at the Capacity Development Programme for artisans to promote Digital Economy, Phone Repairs facilitated by the Distinguished Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial District today at the 1000 Capacity Hall of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) , Ogbomoso.
The two week capacity development training leveraging on Information and Communication Technology(ICT) for National Development in support of artisans, for example, phone repairers organized by the Ministry of Communication And Digital Economy in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) had in attendance 180 participants from across the pace setter state with strict compliance to the stipulated COVID-19 guidelines of social distancing, compulsory use of nose masks, hand washing and use of hand sanitizer.
The participants were tutored by seasoned resource persons at the LAUTECH New ICT Hall on digital literacy, word processing, spreadsheet, online presence, assemblage , repairs and maintenance of mobile phones as well as concept of entrepreneurship development.
Assessment test was conducted by the resource persons to evaluate participants understanding and the participant with the highest score, Miss IfeOluwa Olabanji got a gift of N50,000:00 courtesy of the Distinguished Senator.
One of the participants, AbdulSamad Ibrahim from Oorelope Local Government stated that ; ” We appreciate the Federal Government of Nigeria for this programme. Our appreciation knows no bound to the Distinguished Senator AbdulFatai Omotayo Buhari of Oyo North for facilitating this programme down to Oyo State and providing accommodation for all of us who came from outside Ogbomoso. We are 180 in all from different parts of the state and throughout the training, we were fed with delicious meals in the morning and afternoon by the Federal Government . LAUTECH is a very conducive environment and our tutors are excellent and down to earth. I have been able to personally work perfectly on some phones and with these equipments given to me, I am good to go “.
Mr. Olayinka Femi, one of the supervisors from NITDA happily said that ;
“We have been organising series of programmes and I must tell you I am so excited with the level of success achieved. The environment is very conducive and the participants cooperated with us. I will be an ingrate if I fail to appreciate the Distinguished Senator Buhari Fatai for the logistics he provided throughout our stay here. His aides were exceptionally helpful. The attendees were well tutored and with the results of the assessment tests we conducted and strictly supervised , I believe they will make a very good use of this great opportunity to pursue a living.
The facilitator of the training and former Chairman, Senate Committee on ICT in the Eighth Assembly and currently the Senate Committee Chairman on Land Transport and Vice Chairman on ICT in the Nineth Assembly, Dr AbdulFatai Buhari lauded all stakeholders for the success of the eventful programme.
” We appreciate the federal government for standing by his words in his quest to taking millions of people out of poverty and using ICT as one of the key areas to achieving this.
” Only five states took part in the training nationwide and Oyo State was fortunate to be considered while other states will get theirs in subsequent ones.
“To God be the glory because this is the third time I will be facilitating ICT related training to Oyo State. The first two were held in Ibadan and Saki respectively before having this in Ogbomoso and I am hopeful of bringing more to the zone by His grace.
” The Honourable Minister of Communications And Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami FMCS ,FBCS FIIM and Director General NITDA, Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi CCIE should be appreciated for this feats even at the period of COVID-19.
” A big thanks to LAUTECH for always being a great host and partner in progress. The efforts of the supervisors from NITDA and MOC&DE, the tutors and others are also well appreciated for making this training a success.
” I have no doubt that the aims and objectives of the training have been achieved . I, therefore, implore the beneficiaries to make good use of the items received and as they start small , The Almighty Allah will help them excel brilliantly.
” This is all what some people need to become great in life and the more and better you make good use of these items the more I will strive to facilitate more to our dear state and the more NITDA will be willing to help us”, the lawmaker submitted.
” The significance of Information Communication Technology (ICT) in the 21st century cannot be over emphasized and the federal government of Nigera has reiterated her readiness to taking millions of Nigerians from poverty while using ICT as one of the major areas to ensuring this lofty idea is realised”, a stakeholder at the event stated .
” Records have it that the good people of Oyo North Senatorial District have not had such good representation since inception of democracy until the emergence of the Omoluabi Senator born with good virtues, in terms of employment opportunities, personal and facilitated projects, seminars/trainings and mega empowerment programmes amongst others”.
” Just recently the Royal Fathers, chiefs, business moguls, sons and daughters of Oke Ogun graced the Public Hearing occasion on a bill for the establishment of Federal University of Agriculture And Technology, Oke Ogun, sponsored by the Distinguished Senator Fatai Buhari”.
” It is therefore hoped that the zone will have her very first university after the accent of the bill into law by President Mohammmadu Buhari”, a participant, Mr Biodun revealed.
