Oyo North: Fatai Buhari Facilitates FG Grants for 300 Women.
women, not less than 300, selected across the thirteen Local Government Areas of Oyo North Senatorial District went home happily after the disbursement of the Federal Government One – Off grant through the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development that took place at the Oyo State House of Assembly Complex, Agodi Secretariat Ibadan on Wednesday.
The beneficiaries who were nominated by the Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the Senate, Senator AbdulFatai Buhari could not contain their joy as they were handed over the grants yesterday in Ibadan. Speaking at the occasion, the beneficiaries lauded the Senator for his tireless effort for the general uplift of the economic well being of his constituents.
“Sen. Buhari is truly an Omoluabi. Since he got elected in 2015, he has been putting smiles on the faces of we, women. In all his empowerment programmes, we always have the largest beneficiaries. We are grateful to him for this opportunity as we are going to use this grant to boost our businesses and take care of our children. We will always support BAF. He is our husband”, Said one of the beneficiaries.
Senator Buhari in his goodwill message encouraged the women to use the grants for the purpose it was intended and assured the women of Oyo North of more of his support in future.
It must be recalled that the Senator in his International Women’s Day commemoration’s speech had charged the National Assembly to enforce the actualization of 35% political reservation for women.
