Oyo: Olaide Olalere Laments Rots in Education Sector, Frowns At Makinde’s ‘Lip Service’, Promises to Support Indigent Students.
A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress(APC) from Ibadan North East Local Government Area of Oyo-State and Pro- Masses Agitator, Hon. Olaide Olalere popularly known as ‘Ere’ has lamented the rots in education sector in Oyo state under the watch of Engr Seyi Makinde.
Ere frowned at Makinde’s ‘lip service’ to revitalising education and he advised Mr Governor to provide necessary grants, facilities and infrastructures for the secondary schools in the state.
As a pro-masses agitator, lover of people, especially, indigents, and a notable philanthropist, Ere promised, in his own little way, to support the less privileged students with ‘chairs and lockers’ in some schools in Ibadan Land.
“Yesterday, as a son of the soil and lover of masses, I moved around and visited some schools and student areas for on-the-spot assessment of development in education sector, if there is any, since 2019. Indeed, things have really degenerated and I almost wept due to the sorry state of learning environments, inadequacy of facilities and poor conditions of our secondary schools in Oyo State. Under the watch of Governor Makinde, students have been subjected to unnecessary hardship and this must stop, enough is enough,” Ere lamented.
“Mr Governor sir! This is high time to stop ‘lip service’ to education and other sectors of governance. You need to buckle down and seriously face the business of governance, the good people of Oyo-State deserve the best”, Ere concluded.
