Oyo South: Bimbo Adekanmbi Holds Follow Up, Promise Kept Event With Beneficiaries of His Last Free JAMB Program, Rolls Out New One

Former Deputy Chief of Staff In Oyo-State, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi popularly known as Bimadek has held a “Promise Kept, Follow Up and Discussion Event” with the beneficiaries of his last free JAMB program yesterday in Ibadan. He also used the avenue to announce the commencement of 2021 edition of the program.

The facilitators of the event, Mr Rahman Adeleke and Ishola Akeem Adetoyese in their respective welcome addresses lauded the former Finance Commissioner, Adekanmbi for always putting the interests of the people first, especially, for organising different educational schemes like the free JAMB program and they commended the beneficiaries for coming out in flying colour.

In his opening remarks, Adekanmbi congratulated the beneficiaries for making it and he thanked God for the grace. He reaffirmed his commitments to always be in support of humanitarian cause, especially, the one that bothers on the progress of young minds and youth generally.

“We are not only buying forms for our students to gain admissions but we are also following their progress in their respective higher institutions of learning, especially, to support their welfare and monitor their achievements”, he stated.

“Last times, we bought forms for more than 200 students but you are here today as the selected one who have also distinguished yourselves by coming out in flying colour.

One of the beneficiaries, Ajadi Azeez , while speaking lauded Adekanmbi and mentioned his passion to become a great journalist in life and he counted on Hon. Bimadek as his mentor to actualise himself.

A parent present, Mr Makinde Oyedele who stood for her daughter, Makinde Itunu Favours stated that, “My daughter, Makinde Itunu, sat for Jamb twice, before, and she scored 200 above but she couldn’t get admission. Meanwhile, now, she has overwhelmingly passed this one sponsored by Hon. Adekanmbi and she has gained admission into higher institution of learning at Kwara State University. Indeed, Hon. Adekanmbi is a fortunate leader and his fortune is contagious, thank you sir”, he lauded.

While fielding questions from pressmen, Adekanmbi revealed that in addition to the 11 Local Government Areas in Ibadan covered by the 2020 Program, the 2021 edition would include the 3 Local Government Areas in Ibarapa Land. He declared his interests to represent the people of Oyo South Senatorial District come 2023.

Adekanmbi reiterated his commitment to not only continue to empower youth but also to develop them to truly become productive people. He mentioned his social support programs that cover women, the aged and other members of the society.

Other students who spoke were Wasiu Rofeehat, Surajudeen Ibrahim, Hamzat Taofeek, Oni Fatimah and Yekeen Adulai. Other beneficiaries who were also present were Aderigbe Hikman, Akinyemi Oyindamola, Taofeek Akinola, Yekeen Abdulai, Alli Aishat and Adedeji Fahidat.

Also in attendance were , Hon. Oyeyemi Abiola Olubadan, Hon. Akin Akinwale, Prince Adewale Aponmade Apoms, Hon. Adedayo Elugbaju Dangote, Hon. Babatunde Alonge Babs, Comrade Alli Egbesola Neonate, Comrade Monsur Akin-Adeyemo Socrates among others.
