Oyo South: Financial Pundit, Kolapo Kola-Daisi Sets Forth to Become Next Senator.
The renown financial Pundit and full blooded Ibadan Descendant, Mr Kolapo Idris Kola-Daisi, has reaffirmed his passion and commitments to serve good people of Oyo South Senatorial District, at the red chamber, come 2023.
The son of the foremost Industrialist and the Bashorun of Ibadan land, Chief Kola Daisi made this known yesterday at a media parley held in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo-State.
Kola-Daisi stated, that his desire to represent the senatorial district is as a result of his sincere interest to serve humanity and good intention to reposition the district.
The 43-year-old financial guru, who hails from Ita-Baale Olugbode, in Ibadan North East Local Government of the district, maintained that part of his family values and core principles are excellence, philanthropy and humanity. He assured his constituents of quality representation and well deserved dividends of democracy that will aid the betterment of people’s lives, launch the promotion of human capacity through quality education and sustainable development, if mandate is given.
Daisi restated his readiness to initiate bills to improve the welfare of his constituents. He rolled out his four point agenda as “Human Capacity Development, Social and Infrastructural Development, Key Intervention in Education and Health Sectors via quality representation, and Women empowerment and Gender main- streaming.
“I have ambitions, one of which is how we can make this our great state of Oyo, a much better place, how we can make our great country – Nigeria, a much better place. And I do understand that politics is only a subset of how people can make a difference in the society. But, unfortunately, our society is not developed to the level where you can say you want to make a difference without being involved in one way or the other in politics”, Daisi said.
Speaking further, he reiterated that issues of development, education, empowerment of women and youths would be his major focus as a senator.
Kola-Daisi, who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress(APC), said, “government represents 75%-80% of whatever happens in this our country, because policy drives everything. One way or the other, we have to get involved in decision making, so that we can make our state and country; a better place.
While urging the Nigerian youth to brace up and wake up from oblivion so as to harness their population to demand change , he noted that “If 90% of a population is below 50 years, I think its about time as a population, we take matters into our own hands. I understand that politics can be dirty, it can be convoluted, and there is a lot to discourage people from it , but we can’t be discouraged; if we really want to make our state and country a better place. I think there is a lot we can do, there is a lot we can bring to the table, there is a lot we can share from the little experience that we have”, Kolapo Kola-Daisi solicited.
The former Chairman of all local councils in Ibadan and Kolapo Kola-Daisi’s Campaign Director General, Hon. Lekan Afuye extolled Mr Daisi as a valuable asset and the best thing that would ever happened to Oyo South, if voted. He revealed that the official declaration will hold in December, this year and canvassed supports for him.
