Oyo South, Progressive Absence And ‘Bimbo Adekanmbi!! By Akanmu Victor ‘Yemi (Truthworshipper).

As we all know, Oyo South is one of the three Senatorial Districts in the state. And it is no more a news that the progressive party, Oyo APC, lost the bid of winning the race of “2019 Oyo South Senatorial Contest”, hence, the district became progressively vacant, and seemingly ‘leaderless’.

The absence of the progressive leadership in the Senatorial District, at the Red Chamber, calls for sober reflection, as the good people of Oyo South Senatorial District deserve quality representation and people-centred mode of leadership in the National Assembly but the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, senator presently representing the district is no where to be found, to render such leadership service. As I learnt, even, his party, PDP leaders and members are gnawing their teeth and complaining bitterly that ,”Iru Senator Wo Leyi”. Oooh, no wonder, may be that is why the ‘Mr Senator’ is nicknamed as ‘Sleeping One’.

But who will bell the cat?, who will offer the most needed progressive leadership in Oyo South Senatorial District?. Yoruba adage says, “Eniti Omo Oju Ogun Ni Npa Obi Nin Ire”. The best man for the job is former Oyo State Deputy Chief of Staff(DCoS) and Ex- Commissioner for Finance, “Honourable Abimbola Adekanmbi” popularly known as ‘Bimadek’.

Bimadek is tested and trusted. He is a bridge-builder between new generation and old generation. Yes, Adekanmbi has perfect understanding of ‘Business of Leadership’.

Abimbola is able and agile, capable and courageous, humble and humane. He has firm belief in the party leadership. He holds party members in high esteem. He has total respect for elders. He adores women hundred percent and he loves youth ‘unlimitedly’. Above all, Adekanmbi always put God and Humanity first, in his dealings. ‘People, people and people’ is his watchword.

“Bimbo Adekanmbi” is a silent philanthropist and merciful benefactor that his good deeds and charity know no bound. Despite the fact that he holds the members of the ‘Fourth Estate of The Realm – Pressmen’ in high esteem, Adekanmbi is among those few leaders who do not go out with camera while helping masses except in some few compelling instances. He places ‘Humanity over Publicity’, Oooh, no wonder, his good deeds are well known ‘off camera’, far more than how they are known in the media space.

Adekanmbi! We need you. The good people, constituents of Oyo South need you. Bimadek! Run! Run!! Run!!! Please, run for the Senatorial Race of Oyo South District comes 2023.
