Oyo South Senatorial Hopeful, Prince Musbau Kolawole Asanike Holds Ramadan Lecture in Ibadan.
It was a gathering of notable Ibadan indigenes on Tuesday at the ancient Mapo Hall to witness the maiden edition of the Annual Ramadan Lecture hosted by the foremost Oyo South Senatorial District Hopeful, Prince Musbau Kolawole Asatola Asanike.
The lecture themed; “Applying Islamic Doctrines In Public Leadership To Banish Poverty In Nigeria”, featured the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alh. Sheik Abd. Ganiyy Agbotomokekere, as the special father of the day and Alh. Sheik Muhideen Ajani Bello as the guest speaker.
Sheik Muhideen in his message implored all Muslim faithfuls to embrace peace and emulate the leadership style of the holy prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). He said;
“with good leadership spirit, poverty will be seen as a common enemy both to the rich and poor to fight against and will be reduced drastically.
The scholar decried the way leaders seek political office for self aggrandizement and as an opportunity to scoop public funds into their personal, as well as their godfather’s pockets.
An array of dignitaries who graced the occasion included the Deputy Governor of Oyo State; His Excellency, Rauf Olaniyan, former military governor of Lagos State; Chief Raji Rasaki, Chief Lateef Oyelade, Baba isale of musilumi of Ibadanland, Chief Nureni Akanbi, Mogaji Ile Iba Oluyole, Chief Bayo Mustapha Oyero, former CCII president, Alh Taofeek Akeu Gba Gold, Alh Bao Oladeji, Alh Basiru Ajibade, former Tescom chairman.
Others include, Alh Akinlabi Fashad, Barr. Mikhail Yeoye Asanike, Mogaji Asanike compound, MHR Musiliu Akinremi team were present, Alhaji Aminat Oparemi Opasan, Hon Gbenga Opaleye, former chairman, Ibadan Southwest LG, Mogaji Adanla, Musiliu Omo Oba and other important personalities were as well present.
The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Rauf Olaniyan in his remarks, charged the citizens to participate in governance by speaking truth to power,whether in person or in anonymity.
Alh Olalomi Amole and Elder Komolafe with the support of MC Handsome anchored the program professionally and Islamically.
