Oyo State : Group Condemns Folaranmi for Rejecting Makinde’s Appointment .
GROUP CONDEMS HON BANJI FOLARANMI FOR REJECTING GOV SEYI MAKINDE’S APPOINTMENT.
A group of concerned youths from Surulere Local Government area of Oyo State, under the aegis of Youth Integrity Movement (YIM) , Surulere chapter has berated the former law maker , Hon. Folaranmi Oyebanji for turning down the appointment offered him by Oyo state governor, Eng Seyi Makinde on behalf of the people of Surulere Local Government .
It would be recalled that the PDP led government in the state under the leadership of Engr Seyi Makinde recently reconstituted members of the governing council of Emmanuel Alayande College of Education(EACOED), Oyo to steer the affairs of the institution for the next four years and counted the former lawmaker worthy of nomination as one of the members of the governing board.
The group described the action of lawmaker as inhuman, diabolical and ungrateful that needed to be condemned by every reasonable people.
The group, through her spokesperson, Comrade Simeon Toyebi lauded the kind gesture of Governor Seyi Makinde for recognizing the local government and nominating one of their sons as a member of the governing board of the institution.
The movement felt dissatisfied and vehemently condemned the purported action of the nominee and former Honourable Member for treating the offer with ridicule and rejection.
“Any political office holder either elected or appointed is a call to service to people but it is not your personal interest as grossly exhibited by Hon. Banji Folaranmi “, Toyebi lamented.
The group also urged the governor not to deter by inept action of the former lawmaker. They stressed that such action has been his trademark in his political history .
“Afterwards, such appointment is being considered as a day light robbery to the genuine political bigwigs and members of the region who felt the appointment should have been someone’s reap who wields more influence than him in the region or how do you consider someone that could not deliver his polling unit talk less of his ward for his party in the last general election for an appointment? In the last general election, the Former lawmaker has no political influence and value to the victory of PDP led government in the state. Records are there for verification, the group said”, Simeon Toyebi complained .
