Oyo State : Idiroko Landlord Association , Others Laud Soji Akanbi on Tarring Roads, Facilitating Projects .

A delegation led by the Chairman of Tinuoye Estate, Idiroko Landlord Association, Ojoo area of Akinyele Local Government in Ibadan, Alhaji Muritala Ajamu has paid a courtesy visit to Senator Adesoji Akanbi to express their profound gratitude for the good gesture extended towards the community by effecting the tarring of about 200 metres of dilapidated roads in the community.

The Chairman in his words described this gesture as a sudden help and the entire community were surprised at this intervention adding that they had been promised by different politicians on fixing the road for about 10 years and none of them fulfilled the promise until Senator Akanbi intervened.

The Vice-Chairman of the Association, Mr Kamorudeen Alagbe in his words said ‘we are super grateful to Senator Akanbi for coming to our rescue. This is another testimonial that Senator Akanbi is a man that has the thought of the people at heart, as it is also evident in the various strides performed through Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF) and the fact that even out of office as a lawmaker he is still performing excellently’.

Other members of the delegation present, the Secretary of the Association, Mr Akeem Wahab, Mr Sola Olasode and Mr Abdul-Rahman Popoola also applauded the Senator for this surprising intervention and his other numerous outstanding works, saying he is a man that has performed his duties excellently as a lawmaker in and out of office.

They further referenced the major role he played in facilitating the Lagos/Ibadan Standard Rail Gauge, his giant strides towards improving the quality of education, the provision of 500 KVA transformers and their installation in different communities while being out of office; adding that, the recurring result-oriented and broad-based vocational training, skills acquisition and empowerment programme organized by RAAF has equipped hundreds of artisans and traders with relevant tools and non-repayable capital.

The Vice-Chairman, Kamorudeen Alagbe, a plank seller at Iso pako testified to his good works evident in the provision of solar-powered street lights at Iso Pako and cash empowerment for traders and business owners. ‘His benevolence has helped businesses thrive and we are indeed grateful to Him and I pray that may Almighty God give him the grace to do more’, he said.

Their joy and gratitude were evident in their heartfelt intense prayers for Senator Akanbi, even as they also extended the appreciation of the entire community being represented. They wished him well and prayed for his success in future endeavours.

While responding, Senator Akanbi appreciated the team for the love, the prayers and the various words of encouragement adding that all other pending requests and need has been noted and by God’s grace will come to fruition. He further stated that the story of the journey towards the actualization of the project and the role he played would not be complete without acknowledging the role played by the former Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Mr Ope Salami who was always following through and putting calls through to him regarding the project. He commended them and appreciated the fact that they are a well-organized community while also commending their unflinching support and cooperation throughout the period of the project.
