Oyo: Ward Leadership Suspends AFIJIO APC Women Leader over Alleged Misconduct

Mrs. Owolabi Ibidunni Olatunbosun, the Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in AFIJIO Local Government, from Ward 6, Awe, has been suspended over alleged involvement in activities against party interests. The suspension was outlined in an official letter signed by Demola Adeyinka, the Ward 6 Chairman, and Aiki Oluremi, the Ward Secretary.

The suspension letter details numerous allegations against Mrs. Olatunbosun, including accusations of participating in anti-party activities, consistently disrespecting party leaders, and engaging in conduct detrimental to the party’s reputation. Additionally, she is accused of influencing nomination processes to favour a select group of individuals within her personal network, thereby allegedly undermining party unity in her ward.

Due to the severity of the accusations, the party leadership established a disciplinary committee to investigate the allegations as per APC’s guidelines, outlined in Article 21.2 and Article 21.3 of the party’s constitution.

As part of the disciplinary process, Mrs. Olatunbosun has been requested to temporarily refrain from representing herself as the APC Women Leader in Ward 6. This measure will remain in effect until the disciplinary committee reaches a conclusive decision.

In addition to the suspension, the letter was copied to key stakeholders in the party, including:
