In the last three editions, the month of February used to be the choice month for the highly celebrated Oyo Social Media and Distinguished Pereinalities’ Awards but unfortunately, so many events started coming up in the same month. This was the first challenge we faced in the planning of the 4th edition of the event. The feedback on the date we choose to hold the event this year prompted us to postpone it for a week. At a point, the chances of holding this event appeared so bleak but we just had to make it happen. We had to defy the odds.
No doubt, organizing an event of such magnitude is not a child’s play; running from pillars to posts, getting dedicated hands to work with us, raising funds running into millions of naira from a dry pocket and spending so many sleepless nights dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, the challenges were numerous but to the glory of God, history was made again.
To the almighty God who made our dream come to reality, we are grateful. It’s been You all the way! Thank You for not putting us to shame. We appreciate You for giving us the strength and sound health to make the impossible possible.
I want to appreciate all members of my immediate family for their understanding, support and overwhelming show of love in the course of this project. You all are the best!!!
Omo Iya Kunmi may appear as a nickname but it’s now a brand with many faces. It’s has become a household name because of the wonderful people who took days and nights to uphold it’s tenets. Young, intelligent, brilliant, dedicated and committed brains gave up their time and resources to work with me as a team. I often wonder what I have done to deserve a great team like you. Thank you all for everything, guys. ‘Thru’ thick and thin, we are going to ride ‘thru’ the storms together to greatness. I appreciate all members of Team OIKF for their dedication and commitment towards the success of the event.
His Imperial Majesty, Alaafin Oba Adeyemi III , I can never find the most appropriate words to show my gratitude to you and the oloris, sir. You have been a great pillar of support and motivation. We will forever be grateful to you for the fatherly roles you played towards the success of this year’s edition. May your reign continue to be successful, sir. Ogbo a to! 🙏
To all our distinguished guests and friends who came from far and near, we are grateful for the honor you bestowed on us. Space won’t permit me to mention you all but I will surely acknowledge soon. It’s our prayer that may God almighty continue to uphold you! Thank you so much!!!
To all you wonderful people from Oyo who shunned all differences and came around to celebrate peace and unity, we say a massive thank you. Thank you for joining us in celebrating our heroes and further establishing the need to showcase our brands.

A big congratulations to all recipients of the Distinguished Personalities’ Awards, that was just our own little way of celebrating you. We implore you never to relent in the selfless service to humanity and mankind. May you all continue to be relevant.
Social media has proven to be an effective tool for advocacy, humanitarian activities, a platform to showcase talents and creativity. Winners of awards in this category are implored to take note of this and exploit the platform to the betterment of lives. Congrats to you all.
To all nominees, I want to say a big congrats to you. Your nomination for these awards showed that people really appreciated and found you relevant in that area. We implore you never to be discouraged. Stay motivated! You are all WINNERS!
God alone is the perfect being and that’s why we apologize for every little imperfections that came up before, during and after the event. We hope you will overlook our shortcomings and relish the memories of the beautiful event.
Lastly, it warms my heart that the motives and ideas of Oyo Social Media and Distinguished Personalities’ Awards were achieved again. Once again, we are grateful to all those who have always been dedicated and committed towards the realization. The dream is gradually becoming a reality and it’s indeed, our joy, that the stories of successes recorded abound. Against all odds and principalities, history is being set again.
