PDP’s Attack on Adelabu, A Cheap Cover-Up for Makinde’s Failure – Group

The attention of the APC Ibadan North East Reconciliation Movement has been drawn to a reckless outburst by the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Mr Ogunsina Oluwaseun Michael, who condemned the Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, over his ₦12.5 million support to the APC media and youth wings.
We consider this shameful attack as nothing but a desperate attempt to divert attention from the abysmal failures of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, which has turned Oyo State into a land of propaganda, insecurity, and half-baked projects.
Chief Adelabu’s gesture is a transparent, noble, and commendable effort aimed at strengthening party structures and empowering young people within the APC fold. Unlike the PDP government, which has reduced empowerment to distributing Keke NAPEP and Okada to a handful of people for political headlines, Adelabu is building a political movement anchored on unity, development, and genuine youth inclusion.

The PDP PRO should be reminded that Oyo people are not blind:

On Security: Governor Makinde boasted of turning Oyo into the safest state, yet Ibadan and Oke-Ogun communities are plagued daily by armed robbery, kidnapping, and thuggery. The so-called Amotekun is underfunded and politicised, leaving citizens vulnerable.
On Infrastructure: Most of Makinde’s roads are either uncompleted, substandard, or executed on paper. The Ibadan circular road project has become a white elephant despite billions wasted, while potholes litter our major highways.
On Education: Oyo schools remain overcrowded, underfunded, and ill-equipped. The governor who promised world-class education now presides over schools where students sit on bare floors and teachers remain demoralised.
On Governance: Governor Makinde thrives on media showmanship, flying around with PDP governors, while neglecting the very people who voted him into office. Civil servants and pensioners continue to lament poor welfare, while PDP leaders loot the state under the guise of “contracts”.
For the PDP to accuse Chief Adelabu of “funding propaganda” is laughable when the entire Makinde government survives on propaganda. It is hypocritical for a government that has failed to create meaningful employment for youths to attack a leader who is empowering his party’s youth and strengthening democratic participation.
Dragging Adelabu’s family into politics is the lowest point of the PDP PRO’s mischief. Responsible politics is about ideas, solutions, and vision — not insulting families.
Chief Adelabu is a minister of the Federal Republic with verifiable achievements. The PDP should challenge Governor Makinde to publish a list of sustainable, life-changing projects he has delivered in six years, beyond publicity stunts and photo ops.
We assure the people of Oyo State that the APC, under a united and reconciled family, is determined to rescue the state from the deceit, arrogance, and incompetence of the PDP.
