Peace, Justice and Reconciliation in Oyo State Chapter of APC | Waheed O Lawal.
I want to appeal to all leaders and members of the Oyo State chapter of the APC to maintain peace.
I have a privileged information that a group of persons have been commissioned to scatter the wounded State Chapter.
They have discovered that despite our electoral loss at the governorship and legislative elections, we are able to carry on and proudly saying we belong to the progressive party.
It is trite that peace is always accompanied by justice for it to last. There must be a Truth and Reconciliation Committee. Reconciliation is a continuous process. It can never be too much, but it is important that once one is done, the reports and recommendations must be implemented.
In the situation we have found ourselves, there is a need to find out what went wrong and to apologise and forgive ourselves.. If there were serious infractions, there could be a reproach. Those who did well must also be identified and given Awards for their loyalty and commitment to the party.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen, each of us must appoint ourselves as gate keepers, each manning one of the several gates leading to the APC House. It is your responsibility not to allow APC to be attacked from the gate where you stationed yourself..
Our situation is not one of hopelessness. Although we are down but we have not fallen. In the circumstances, we require changes of heart and spirit, tenacity of purpose and determination to keep this party together and growing so as to reap the dividends of democracy that God has given us in the presidential and national assembly elections of 11th March, 2023..
Let us remember that Oyo State is very critical to Tinubu presidency. We must do everything humanly possible to bring oyo state back to the kitty of APC government.
