PHOTOS: Association of Africa Professionals Celebrates Children’s Day with Physically Challenged Students in Ibadan, Promotes Inclusivity, Empowerment
In a heartwarming display of kindness and compassion, the Association of Africa Professionals (APA) Nigeria Chapter visited the Christian Mission School for the Deaf and Andrew Forster Memorial College (Deaf) in Ibadan, Oyo State, to celebrate Children’s Day with the students. The outreach programme aimed to bring joy and inspiration to the young minds, despite their hearing impairments.
Amb. Dr. Moshood Ismail Abioye, President of APA, represented by Mrs. Agbeja, Vice President of APA, emphasised the importance of empowering the next generation and urged professionals to join the association to make a positive impact globally. The team donated gift items to the students.
The team also shared words of encouragement and motivation, emphasising the importance of education and hard work in achieving their dreams.
APA is a diverse organisation offering various personal and professional development programmes, scholarships, and leadership training to hundreds of individuals annually. With members from over 30 African countries, including Ghana, Uganda, Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Tanzania, Somalia, South Africa, Kenya, Sierra Leone, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Mauritania, Gambia, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Chad, and Sudan, APA’s membership comprises over 25 different professions, including accountants, medical doctors, nurses, human resource managers, IT experts, engineers, geologists, business development managers, lawyers, teachers, welfare officers, electricians, plumbers, community workers, and scientists.
APA’s mission is to enhance personal and professional development, facilitate professional networking, inspire, stimulate, and motivate professional excellence, and promote positive contributions to the global community. The association’s objectives include enhancing professional skills, stimulating continuous improvement, serving as a forum for advocacy on behalf of members, creating an environment conducive to personal and professional development, encouraging members to effect positive change in society, and enhancing the transparent dissemination of professional advancement information.
By visiting the deaf students, APA demonstrated its commitment to inclusivity and empowering all individuals, regardless of their abilities. The students at Christian Mission School for the Deaf and Andrew Forster Memorial College (Deaf) were thrilled to receive the gifts and attention from the APA team, and the outreach programme served as a reminder that every child deserves love, care, and support, regardless of their abilities.
