PHOTOS: Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh Agbotomokekere Installs Alhaji Ibraheem Iyiola ‘Dudu Alubarika’ as Bashorun Musulumi of Ibadanland

The Chief Imam of Ibadanland and Grand Patron of the League of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta States, Sheikh Abdul-Ganniyy Abubakar Agbotomokekere, on Sunday, December 28, installed Alhaji (Dr) Ibraheem Olayode Iyiola as the Bashorun Musulumi of Ibadanland at the Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’ba, in Ibadan.
The event was marked by humanitarian contributions from friends and associates of the new Bashorun Iyiola towards the development of the Ibadan Central Mosque and the promotion of Islam in Ibadan Land and beyond.
In his inaugural address, the newly installed Bashorun Musulumi, Alhaji Iyiola, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Allah, esteemed guests, and the Ibadanland Council of Imams. He announced plans to donate parts of the items needed in the mosque, emphasising his commitment to serving both Allah and supporting the faithful.
Professor K.K. Oloso, a renowned Islamic cleric, congratulated the Bashorun, praising Allah for Iyiola’s new position and requesting divine blessings for his longevity. He also prayed for Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin and other people present at the occasion.
The highlight of the event included a ceremonial award presented to Iyiola by Chief Akanbi, Baba Isale Musulumi of Yorubaland, who remarked on the auspicious nature of the installation. The Chief Imam formally conferred the Certificate of Office upon the new Bashorun.
A reception followed at the Daylan Event Centre, Gbaremu area of Ibadan, featuring numerous dignitaries, including Oloye Wasiu Ajimobi, Oloye Shina Alabi, Barr. Akeem Agbaje, Prof. Azeez Adeduntan, Alhaji Surajudeen Iyiola Abiola, Alhaji Muhammed Taofeek Iyiola, Eng. Kunmi Ajisafe, Alhaji Murisiku Iyiola, Alhaji Lukman Adeyemo, Hon. Akeem Akogun, Hon. Morufu Smith, Chief Sunkanmi Iyiola and several other influential figures, all coming together to celebrate the historic milestone.
