The only son of late former Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, Idris has been turbaned as as the Aare Akogun Musulumi of Oyo State.

The installation, which was held at Ibadan Central Mosque, Oja’Ba, on Sunday, was performed by the Chief Imam of Ibadan Land, Sheikh Abdul-Ganiyy Abubakri Agbotomokekere and he was supported by other Chief Imams, across the state.

Among eminent Nigerians that honoured Idris Ajimobi at the installation ceremony were his father in-law and Governor of Kano-State, Alhaji Abdullah Umar Ganduje; Deputy Governor of the State, Engr Raufu Olaniyan; Oyo Central Senator, Oloye Teslim Folarin and the closest Islamic Cleric to late Gov. Ajimobi, Sheikh Muyideen Bello.

His mother and former first lady, Chief(Dr) Florence Ajimobi, as a good mother and female archetype, she is, could not hide her joy for seeing her beloved son progressing in life, especially, after the demise of his highly valued husband and legendary figure of all times, Senator Abiola Ajimobi(RIP).

The late Ajimobi’s son, Idris, such as his parents, as he is known for courage, intelligence, generosity and service to humanity, said that the new title would spur him to do more for Islam and humanity, in general.

The young Ajimobi, Idris is vying for the Membership, Ibadan South West State Constituency-II, in the Oyo State House of Assembly, come 2023.

Ajimobi said that his venturing into politics was borne out of his desire to contribute to the society, promising to sustain his father’s legacies.
