In a powerful display of party solidarity, Forum 68—an influential body of former Executive Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Councillors elected during the administration of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi—has today paid a high-profile congratulatory visit to the newly sworn-in State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), His Excellency, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo.

The delegation, led by former Oyo ALGON Chairman Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, was received at the party’s state secretariat in Oke-Ado today, Tuesday, March 17, 2023, marking a pivotal moment in the APC’s strategic realignment within the pacesetter state.

The visit brought together a who’s who of ex-Oyo ALGON gaffers and Oyo APC leadership, signalling a unified front as the party prepares for future electoral challenges.

During the reception, Chief Alake-Adeyemo urged members to prioritise the collective success of the party over individual interests. He emphasised that the ultimate goal is to return the APC to the Agodi Government House.

Adeyemo stressed that unity is the only currency that will guarantee victory in the upcoming elections, urging all factions and groups to merge their efforts under the party’s central vision.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Prince Aleshinloye, on behalf of the members of Forum 68, pledged unflinching support and unalloyed solidarity for Alake-Adeyemo-led Oyo APC executives while vowing that the forum will work immensely to dislodge the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state and record a landslide victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election come 2027.

“This solidarity visit is to chart a new course for the APC in Oyo State. We have 68 chairmen, 68 vice chairmen, 610 councillors and several appointees under Forum 68. We have mobilisation strength, and we are here today to pledge our total support to Your Excellency’s new executives,” said Aleshinloye, citing their grassroots experience as a vital tool for the party’s voter drive efforts.

With the united Oyo APC leadership and the reaffirmed loyalty of veteran grassroots politicians, the party, with expressed rejuvenated optimism, is poised for a landslide victory in the next election cycle, come 2027.

Also in attendance were Oyo APC Deputy Chairman, Dr. Taofeek Lamidi; party secretary, Alhaji Fatai Adesina; state women leader, Dr Felicia Adekemi Opatunde; immediate past women leader and current auditor, Alhaja Tinuade Adigun; Publicity Secretary, Hon. Olawale Sadare; Deputy State Women Leader, Hon. Fatimah Hassan; Assistant State Secretary, Alhaji Lukman Owonikoko; Oyo Central Senatorial Chairman, Hon.
