Former Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande has celebrated this year’s birthday with a donation of food items to the less privileged.

Prof Akande in a remark delivered on his behalf at the juvenile correctional center, Cheshire,Ibadan by members of the Adeolu Akande Foundation, said the gesture was to call the attention of the rich to the agony and plight of the needy in the society.

“As we celebrate in our homes, we should always remember the poor, the needy and abandoned children. Government alone cannot cater for the needs of these vulnerable children in our society.

“Instead of lavishing money on frivolous and unnecessary things, the rich should endeavor to remember the poor and the less privileged”, Akande submitted.

It would be recalled that Prof. Akande had at different occasions donated food items at the center.
