PHOTOS: Senator Akanbi Visits Association of Fish Sellers, Reiterates Support

In fulfillment of his promise made during the 2023 presidential election campaign, Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has embarked on a visitation tour of about 75 associations, including market associations, artisans’ associations, and professional bodies.

On July 30th, Senator Akanbi paid a courtesy visit to the Association of Fish Sellers under the leadership of Alhaja Afusat Asake Yusuf, where he was warmly received. The association praised him as a man of honesty and integrity who keeps his promises.

The association’s secretary, Mr. Lawal Adewale, noted that through the Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi Foundation (RAAF), Senator Akanbi has been supporting the association in various ways, including cash donations, which they have received twice. They also acknowledged his contribution to the ongoing construction of their state office, requesting his assistance to complete the project.he also praised him for his efforts to make livelihood better generally for his people.

Senator Akanbi was accompanied on the visit by a delegation of notable individuals, including Engr. Tunde Tolase, Prince Ibrahim Aderolu, Mr. Dotun Olorundero, Hon. Femi Adetunbi and Mr. Quadri Adeyemi

In response, Senator Akanbi, also known as the Okanlomo of Ibadanland, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and noted his happiness at the association’s growth and improvement. He emphasized that politicians should not wait until election periods to fulfill their promises, especially in the current state of the country.

Senator Akanbi reiterated his commitment to supporting hardworking people and associations, promising to continue his support for their growth and development. “We must stay connected with the people, pay them a visit, empower and show them love, especially in this present situation of the country,” he added.
