Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Sen.) Olalekan Balogun, CFR, Alli Okunmade II, on Monday has installed the student union veteran and influential new media pundit, Chief Abiola Oyeyemi and others as Mogajis in Ibadan, nationalinsightnews.com reported.
Abiola Oyeyemi Olusogo, a United States-based business magnate, is the new Mogaji Agoro Bogunbolu.
Other newly installed Mogajis include community leaders Dr. Waheed Oladosu Ogunbiyi (Mogaji Atere), Moshud Lukman Adekunle (Mogaji Isoju’ba), Sikiru Abayomi Gbadamosi (Mogaji Ile Onigba), Saheed Ayodeji Akande (Mogaji Tanimomo Atunrase), and Abass Akeem Akintayo (Mogaji Wolohunmole Makanjuola).
Others were AbdulMojeed AbdulAzeez Onibiyo (Mogaji Olanase), Asimiyu Farinu (Baale Aikulola Village), Saheed Mudashiru Amole (Baale Abesupinle Village), and Abass Adesina Balogun (Baale Idi-Osan Ogbere, Idi-Sango).
The monarch in his speech, expressed worries over throat-cutting competition over Mogaji titles within some Ibadan families’ compounds, a development said to be causing confusion in his Advisory Council.
At the occasion were members of the Olubadan Advisory Council, comprising Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, Oba Eddy Oyewole, Oba Tajudeen Ajibola, and Oba Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe-Balogun of Ibadanland, Otun Olubadan, Osi Olubadan, Otun Balogun, and Osi Balogun, respectively.

Others were Ashipa Olubadan, Ashipa Balogun, Ekerin Olubadan, Ekerin Balogun, and Ekarun in the persons of Oba Biodun Kola-Daisi, Oba Kolawole Adegbola, Oba Hamidu Ajibade, Oba Dada Isioye, and Oba Abiodun Azeez.
Oba Ajibola, who addressed the newly installed Mogajis and Baales on behalf of Oba Balogun, according to the press statement made available to journalists by the Personal Assistant (Media) to Olubadan, Oladele Ogunsola, said the reports coming to the Council on the level of desperation of some aspiring Mogajis were very disturbing.
He urged the aspirants to take things easy and stop giving the Council difficult tasks to undertake, noting that “it is unheard of that two siblings would be appointed Mogaji of the same family compound,” adding that “it is the highest degree of desperation for anybody to conceive such an abnormality.”.
The monarch counselled that “the moment a decision is made and somebody is appointed a Mogaji of a family compound, other aspirants from such a compound must perish the ambition and think of something else. One only gets what is destined by his creator to get.”
Oba Ajibola prayed for the new Mogajis and Baales to have a peaceful and purposeful reign, just as he reminded them of the palace admonition to the community leaders on the need to ensure security and good neighbourliness among their subjects.
