Planned Protest Not Healthy for The Nation Right Now – Alalade

APC stalwart in Ibadan North Local Government, and the Publicity Secretary of the Oyo State Caucus of the APC Uk, Ademola Alalade has called on the organisers of the planned protest scheduled for the 1st of August against the administration of President Bola Tinubu to have a re- think, by calling it off saying the protest is not healthy for the continued growth of the country.

Alalade who gave the warning in a statement released on behalf of the Oyo State caucus of the party noted that peaceful protest is a fundamental right of citizens to express their dissatisfaction against policies of government but this particular one being planned is coming at a time when the country is already facing the most challenging period in its history.

Alalade urged the organisers of the protest to embrace constructive dialogue with government so as to ensure they come up with reasonable solutions that will help alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.

Alalade also called on Government to be more in tune with the masses of Nigeria who have been very tolerant with the current tide of hardship and come up with adequate plans that will as a matter of urgency cushion the effects of the hardship on their livelihoods.

Alalade stressed further that any form of protest at this very sensitive period might be hijacked by hoodlums and will only trigger violence which might lead to anarchy and which will not be a good thing for country at this particular time.
