Plateau Killings: FOSSU Facilitates Evacuation of Members in Unijos, Lauds Oyo Govt.

Following the recent attacks on travelers at Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, where commercial and private cars were attacked by hoodlums and many killed. The National Council of Federation of Oyo State Students Union(FOSSU) has received the outcry of their members schooling in University of Jos(UNIJOS) and perfected all plans to evacuate them from the crisis -ridden area, as actions and reactions from different quarters have generated pandemonium leading to community unrest.

FOSSU National has condemned the recent attacks and described as disheartening unfortunate and injurious to humanity.

However, as parts of the union’s efforts to prioritize the well being of its members, it has facilitated the evacuation of Oyo State Students schooling in Unijos through the Office of Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Students Affairs on 23rd of August, 2021.

The National President while addressing the press lauds the responsiveness of Oyo State SA Student for his prompt response and the arrangement to bring their members back home, safely.

The Union appreciated the students populace, particularly, Oyo State Students in UNIJOS for the confidence they had in the leadership of FOSSU.

While concluding, the President, Com. Azeez Muritala Olowoeko reassured members on the commitment of FOSSU National towards ensuring their members are safe across campuses .
