Powerplay: Rescheduled Oyo APC Congress May Hold This Saturday.

If feelers from the national headquarters of the party is anything to go by, the postponed congress of the All Progressives Congress(APC), in Oyo State, may take placse this Saturday, OYOINSIGHT.COM exclusively reported.

This Newspaper, Africano Trumpeters understands that the congress which was earlier scheduled for Saturday 16th October, 2021 had been shifted till October 26th, 2021 following alleged falsification of congress document.

Africano Trumpeters Newspaper recalled that Oyo APC, two days before the postponed day, announced another postponement. That was few hours after the Chairman and new Secretary of the Congress Committee, Gambo Lawal and Abdullah Bello respectively had arrived the Capital City, Ibadan.

A statement made on behalf of the National Caretaker Committee by Prince Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi, who incidentally is from the state and represents Ibadan North federal constituency, said it was to allow unity, adding that it would now hold on 6th November, 2021.

A party source, who begged not to be named as the person wasn’t authorized to speak, said that “APC congress to be concluded this weekend.” He declined further comment when interrogated further.

“The stakeholders will be briefed soonest. We have to move on. The November 6 is too far because we need to do some other stuffs,” another source also spoke on condition of anonymity.

Africano Trumpeters Newspaper understands that Oyo APC is currently battling with intra party rivalry and it is divided along different power blocs -Unity Forum/Ajimobi Legacy Forum/Adelabu/Zenith Labour Party and Folarin/Akala/Lamists/SENACO tendencies.

Meanwhile, if all the tendencies within the party work together, Oyo APC is better positioned to record landslide victory, in the state, come 2023. But as the power game is currently tensed in the party and powerplay advances everyday, the outcome of this rescheduled congress will make or mar the party.
