Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye Pays Tribute to Oba Lekan Balogun

Kabiesi will be remembered as epitome of courage, a patriotic, humane, and upright leader and true elder statesman, who gave his very best to his fatherland – Aleshinloye Mourns Oba Balogun

The immediate past ALGON Chairman in Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye (MDII), has commiserated with family, indigenes of Ibadan, the Oyo State Council of Obas, and the Oyo State Government over the passage of the Olubadan of Ibadan land, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II.

In a statement made available to journalists through his media office, Abass-Aleshinloye said the death of the first-class traditional ruler was painful and an irreparable loss.

The former ALGON leader described the late Olubadan as a highly respected traditional ruler who committed to the growth and development of his people and Nigeria as he deployed his influence to foster peace and attract development within and outside his domain.

“He was a courageous man who protected the dignity of the Olubadan stool and ensured that the traditional institution of the country was well respected and honoured,” he said.

Abass-Aleshinloye further stated that Ibadan would sorely miss Oba Balogun, who he claimed lived a fulfilled life and will be remembered as a peace-loving monarch who served his people selflessly until his glorious exit.

“His Imperial Majesty will be remembered as the epitome of courage, a patriotic, humane, and upright leader and true elder statesman who gave his very best to his fatherland.

“As mortals, we never want our elderly ones to die, but the Holy Books say that all souls must taste death. So, we have to submit to the supreme will of the Almighty, from whom we came and unto whom we shall all return,” the former ALGON boss said.

He urged the children and the entire family of the late Olubadan to be consoled by the fact that the late first-class monarch lived a good life, imparted lives, and left legacies of a good name and honour.

“I pray that God will repose the soul of the departed monarch and comfort the family and the people of Ibadan land,”he added.
