Prof Adeolu Akande,”Mr Human Capital Developer”! Solidarity, Sir | By Monsuru Adeyemo “Socrates”

Prof Adeolu Akande,”Mr Human Capital Developer”! Solidarity, Sir | By Monsuru Adeyemo “Socrates”.

Let me borrow and paraphrase the popular Dadakuada Legendary Musician, Odolaye Aremu’s lyric,”B’Eyan Oseun Anin Pe Oseun, B’Eeyan Ose Eeyan Ani Pe Ose Eeyan. Awa Nan O Ma Ma Nin Fi Igba Kan Bo Ikan Nnun. Bi Eeyan Ba Nsa Owo Baba Re L’Orun Bi Ko Ba Wulo Anin Wi. Nin Gbo Gbo Ojo Aiye Anje Anfanin Oko Min Nin, Adeolu Akande Penbo Bi Eeran Erin – (Borrowed translation; We are outspoken critics that speak their minds on issues, without minding whose ox is gored; We will say it without fear or favour. As constant as son – Adeolu Akande is a good ambassador of Oyo-State, blue-eyed human capital developer, seasoned administrator, notable philanthropist, and charismatic leader of all times – He does good to people without discrimination against them, either based on their regions or religions, ideologies or tendencies.

When the news story of the dissolution of federal agencies, commissions and other boards surfaced in media space, I and my people became apprehensive and we felt concerned, especially, for our “performing” federal government political appointees, from Oyo State, that the decision might have affected. Though, it did not affect some of our leaders, but, still, it affected some of them. Meanwhile, among the affected persons is our performing and charismatic Prof. Adeolu Akande of Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC). Since the “dissolution update”, Prof. Adeolu Akande’s name keeps on ringing and updates of his good deeds keep on reverberating.

Yes,”Deolu” deserved all the encomia he has gotten, because, NCC under his watch had brought many dividends of democracy to Oyo State, more than what Ministry of Communications, brought to the pacesetter state when it was in our coffer. Then, with Communication Ministry, we could not communicate, but with NCC of “Deolu”, Oyo became communicative and digitised – “Digital Economy/ICT Programmes, here and there”. This is an objective assertion and anybody can contest it.

Secondly,”Deolu” is a pro-thinker that either directly, or through his “gatekeepers”, he is always readily available to listen to presentations, or petitions, and offer any kind of solidarity supports, at his disposal.

Though, I noticed that our brothers and comrades from Oke-ogun region of the state wanted to turn it to zonal agenda, but they must know that Prof. Adeolu Akande is not only the pride of Oke-ogun but that of entire Oyo-State, Southwest and Nigeria, at large.

I’m a pro-people agitator, development enthusiast and staunch supporter of digital economy, so, on this pedestal, I want to sincerely thank Prof. Adeolu Akande for all he has done, and he is still doing for youth community, media world, political realms, and humanitarian cause, generally. Thank You “Mr. Human Capital Developer”, thank you our veteran journalist, thank you our legal luminary, thank you our professorial scholar, and remain blessed, Sir.

As a sage has rightly said,”Ise Owo Eda Nin Adura Re – man’s deeds are his prayers.” Prof. Adeolu Akande! Without fear or favour, you have done well as NCC Helmsman. Thus, humanity celebrates you, heaven smiles on you and mother earth rejoices with you. Ahead ahead, Sir – Solidarity.
