Projects: FG Begins Construction Of 80-Bed Hospital In Ogbomoso.

In a bid to further improve the data in maternal health as well as infant and neo-natal mortality in Nigeria, the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goal has commenced the construction of an 80-bed Mother and Child Hospital at Pakiotan area of Ogbomoso in Oyo State.

The presidential aide described the project, which is also expected to provide employment for about 120 people as part of the strategic interventions by OSSAP-SDGs to improved healthcare infrastructure across the country as Nigeria accelerates efforts towards the attainment of SDG 3.

“Tackling neo-natal, infant and maternal deaths in Nigeria have been a major commitment of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration as evident in the numerous interventions by the Office and this project, when completed will be fully equipped by government for its full utilization by the Ogbomoso people and environs,” Princess Orelope-Adefulire said.

On his part, Minister of Youth and Spots Development, Mr Sunday Dare, commended President Buhari on the commitment of his administration to take development to all parts of the country. The Minister was full of praise for Princess Orelope Adefulire for her commitment to locating key health infrastructure in local communities and her partnership with leaders and key political figures from these communities.

“We thank President Muhammed Buhari and the office of the SSA to the President on SDGs for approving this project for the Ogbomoso people. Health is wealth and this 80-bed hospital will no doubt enhance the health delivery system of Ogbomoso. We look forward to more relevant projects to be so cited in Ogbomoso town,” the Minister stated.

In a similar vein, the Baale of the Pakiotan community of Ogbomoso land, Chief James Oyetunji Ojo thanked the APC government under President Muhammadu Buhari for the project and expressed happiness that the people of Ogbomoso will make good use of the much needed health facility when completed.
