It’s no longer news that we announced the suspension of the Pro – Democracy Rally (Part II) earlier slated for Unity Fountain Square, FCT, Abuja, last Monday, 22 July, 2024, by 11:00am, to enable us monitor the activities of faceless Leaders of the Planned Protest across the 36 States and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

At the end of a week assessment of the planned protest, we realised that those who are at forefront fanning the embers of violence and destruction on social media as it happened before and during the 2020 #EndSARS protest are not even in Nigeria neither they are the Initiator of the plan but hijacked it as usual along the line for selfish reason to destroy lives and properties again. – 10 days of rage!

This is the true meaning of their hashtags #TinubuMustGo – This is not protest but Anarchy according to Reuben Abati

RevolutionNow – AAC failed 2019, 2023 Presidential Candidate, Omoyele Sowore Trade Mark, who is enjoying himself now with his family in New Jersey, United States of America.

EndBadGovernmentNow – 2020 #EndSARS Protest Anthem revived and so on

The Initiator, Mallam Murtala Garba, had backed down having realised that his copyright has been stolen by these rebellious elements and desperate mechants of evil trade, seeking regular attention through their usual protests on fixed dates, May 29, June 12 and October 1, since they have been contesting and loosing Elections.

Peaceful Protest implies getting the police permit for security coverage, avoiding disturbance of public peace of larger Society, members of which are not part of your protest.

Their “10 days of rage”, 10 days of disturbance, 10 days of no peace, didn’t guarantee all these.

As Pro – Democracy Groups, we know that any National protest that is not involved the following credible Organisations, Nigeria  Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union  Congress (TUC), National Women Council of Nigeria (NWCN), National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Religious Bodies, Traditional Rulers and major ethnic Groups like Arewa, Afenifere, Ohaneze should have hidden agenda and Organiser won’t be bold to seek police permit as it happened during the 2020 #EndSARS Protest.

While Insurgency, Hunger and Inflation are global phenomenon as at presence and all of us are feeling it together, we must at the same time draw our attention to the major factors that are responsible for our peculiar problem in Nigeria.

As bulk stops on his Table, it’s now high time for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to address the Nation on these salient issue of ceaseless corruption within the system, his humble efforts so far at alleviating our long suffering and reasons why we must be patient with him, having recorded the following landmark achievements within a year of his Administration.

Mr President Giant Strides within a year

1. President has switched payment for Crude Oil sales to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), away from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

2. President has been able to pay back some of the loans owed to China, India, America among others.

3. Relief as Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) cleared $7 Billion forex backlog

*5. CBN: Nigeria’s economy records over $1.5bn inflow as at March 2024 alone

*6. Current fight against insurgency, kidnapping, banditry and herdsmen/farmers’ crisis is on large scale, highly commendable and can only be appreciated by genuine minds by comparing it to that of past administrations

*7. The enviable project, Lagos Calabar Coastal High Way, will speed up various Businesses, reduce traveling distance along the various old Roads and bring rapid development.

Meanwhile, Several Roads are being commissioned by this Administration while countless others are at various stages of completion.

*8. President has directed all the governors including the Minister of Federal Capital, Mr Nyesom Wike, to go into massive production of agricultural products in their respective Areas so as to guarantee food security nationwide and bring down the inflated price of food in the market

*9. In a bid to quench our hunger within a twinkle of an eye, he has also embarked on massive distribution of foodstuffs across the States of the Federation and Federal Capital Territory. Discussion is ongoing on how best the Government can ensure suspension of import tariff, duties, taxes on maize, wheat, rice, cowpeas and other staples for a reasonable period of time.

*10. Activities of the middle men are being curtailed by the Price Control Agency with help of security Agencies

*11 NNPCL commissioned 12 CNG Stations to start selling Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to the motorists which is capable of saving 2/3 of their expenditure on petrol consumption. It’s not inflammable like normal gas, which makes it saver to use

*12. Tinubu first anniversary gift: Conditional cash transfer to poorest of the Poor, 70 million Nigerians and 50 million Households, to reduce suffering of vulnerable Nigerians will soon resume after suspension, which was brought about by suspension of Dr Betta Edu, Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, to allow thorough investigation – Wale Edu, Honourable Minister of finance and coordinating Minister of Economy.

*13. There is improved working relationship between the Government and Manufacturers’ Association of Nigeria (MAN) to safeguard the interest of the vulnerable masses.

*14. Passengers are now enjoying modernised train transport across the Country including Federal Capital Territory to beat the usual traffic on the Roads and guarantee movement of heavy goods across the Country while efforts are on to connect our railway with other West African Countries

*15. Fight against the illicit drugs is total under the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) led by General Buba Marwa (Rtd)

16. Mr President imposed 3 – month ban on foreign trips for Ministers, MDA Heads, Others to reduce administrative cost

*17. The rate of Naira to Dollar has continued to decline for the first time ever in both official market and parallel (BDC) market translating to improvement in economy

*18. Moribound Porthhaircourt Refinery is fully back to work to our collective pride while Kaduna Refinery is also warming up to resume work latest by December 2025.

*19. By the time these 2 Refineries are fully operational with support of Dangote Refinery in Lagos State, the pump price of petrol must surely drop across the Country.

20. President has equally launched the Student loan Scheme which will commence soonest because all measures have been put in place to ensure it gets to Nigerians who are yearning for University Education. The Executive Secretary of the Student loan Scheme gave a detailed explanation on it on 12th March, 2024 on Channels TV. He also reiterated that the student loan website will be released for suitable applicants to apply online in no distant time.

*21. He has equally signed an M.O.U. with the President of Russia to build a nuclear power plant for Nigeria in order to get stable electricity. The said nuclear power plant will take effect on the 3rd of July, 2024 in Warri Delta State which will serve the entire 36 States of the Federation including the F.C.T.

*22. State Governors have been legally empowered by President to start generating electricity supply in their respective States using Independent Power Project (IPP) as a way to improve the intermittent power supply across the Country

*23. President Bola Tinubu has also signed a bill passed by the National Assembly to start paying the vulnerable, aged and unemployed graduates  certain amount of money on monthly basis which will definitely kick start soon.

*24. As we are all aware, he has been able to recover Trillions of money stolen by both civil servants and politicians of the past Administration.

25. President Bola Tinubu has approved Kano – Lagos narrow rail express service.

It will help farmers to move their goods and aid quick products export from the interland.

26.  President has secured a financial partner from EDIB Hong Kong to develop the $27.29bn Escravos Seaport Industrial Complex.al

27. President Bola Tinubu has provided a written confirmation of a New Era Free Trade Zone, with a workable financial model 99 years’ concession.

Build, own, operate, and transfer Delta State to provide 31,000 hectares of land.

28. President Tinubu and the EISC deep sea port.

This port will service all inland ports along River Niger.

It’s called “River Niger Canal Project,” in partnership with Suez Canal Authority.

*This Canal/International Marine highway project is a 600kms ESIC seaport that runs to Baro port.

This project will open up the canal to a depth of 10m to enable it to take vessels up to 100,000 metric tons.

*29. President promised to continue embracing constructive criticisms from patriotic Citizens and Residents of Nigeria as well as those in diaspora and assured terrorists of Hell on Earth

*30. As Civil Societies, we will continue doing our best in the area of public enlightenment. We are glad that we are using this important period to tell the whole World nothing but the true situation in Nigeria, most populous black Nation on the African Continent.

And if this is the situation of things after just a year, exactly 31 years after June 12 Election Result Annulment, Actualisation of which we all globally fought for as Pro – Democracy Groups, we think, we are better off. Our President must thank God Almighty for this feat.
