Protest : Release SPN Leaders, Journalists, Others – Femi Aborisade Tells Security Operatives , Govt .
Labour Unionist, Human Rights Defender And Lawyer, Barr Femi Aborisade has demanded for the immediate and unconditional release of the leaders of Socialist Party of Nigeria(SPN), journalists and others arrested today by Nigeria Police Force(NPF) and other security operatives while exercising their fundamental human rights of freedom of expression and peaceful protest over punitive economic measures and deregistration of SPN by Federal Government of Nigeria led by President Muhammad Buhari .
” Release arrested leaders of SPN and other journalists covering the peaceful protests by SPN against punitive economic measures and deregistration of SPN and other parties “, Aborisade demanded .
” I identify with the call for immediate release of the National Secretary of the SPN, Chinedu Bossah, National Youth Leader of the party, Hassan Taiwo Soweto, Dagga Tolar and four journalists with Galaxy TV, Saharatv, Premium Times and Objectv”, Femi Aborisade solidarised .
” Peaceful protest is a universally and constitutionally recognised right. The peaceful protesters have done nothing wrong under the law. Release them now or charge them to court immediately”, Barr. Femi Aborisade maintained .
