Our this week public figure and African hero of people is PA to the Minister of Interior- Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola and National Coordinator of Asiwaju Grassroot Foundation(AGF), Comrade Olateju Ishola Olohungbebe Olohunjuedalo Adunin Aregbesola(Jnr).
Gallant Comrade Teju!, today is your day and happy 40th birthday anniversary to you. Sir, heaven smiles on you and keep the flag flying always.
Comrade Ishola Olateju:
Comrade Olateju was born on the 5th of March 1981, into the family of (Late) Mr. Kareem Ishola Salami and (late) Alhaja, Wosilat. O. Ishola from Igbo-Owu in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Olateju started his Primary School Education, at Jimoh Ojora primary School, Ajegunle, Lagos State and Brainfield College, Meran also in Lagos state.
Ishola Olateju gained admission into Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin, where he bagged his National Diploma and he furthered his education at Lead City University, Ibadan Oyo state. In addition, Olateju possessed Certificate of Charted institute of Local Government Administration, and also he served his father’s land in Jos, Pleateu State. He has also acquired other legitimate leadership certificates from various institutions.
Olateju is a student activist. He was and still a formidable leader of Igbomina Youth Assembly. He played a prominent role in establishing the National Body of Igbomina Student Union, (National Association of Igbomina Student Union) and other groups in Igbomina land.
He participated in the student struggles and National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS) activities.
Teju is the founder of Ishola Foundation, a Non- Govermental Organisation that has trained thousands of Igbomina indigenes in various types of skills and they have all been established with the equipments that will give them financial liberty within the State and beyond.
He cut his political tutelage from Alimosho Local Government in Lagos State where his father and mentor Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, the former Governor of State of Osun and Current Minister of Interior is a leader.
Before this period, he has been demonstrating and displaying his political sagacity to the political activities of Ward D in shasha, Alimosho Local Government in Lagos state.
In 2003, he joined AD political party and played active roles in the victory of the party in our dear Lagos state.
In 2005 he joined JPM (Jakande Progressive Movement) as a bonafied member of the movement under the leadership of Otunba Keye and Chief Mrs Ebun Abati Afolabi.
As a result of his intellectual engagement, Comrade Teju activities involved at ward level on the merging and emergence of AC political party in 2006.
As a result of this political engagements and his landmark achievements, he was appointed as an Assistant Secretary and later he became Assistant Treasurer at ward level of his local government.
Being a grassroot mobilizer and a political juggernaut, he belongs to many political groups which includes Alimosho Democrats, the Crown and Abati group till date, just to mention a few.
Comrade Teju is also an active member of Alimosho Youth Forum under the leadership of Frances and Kehinde Joseph.
With his experience in contemporary politics of Lagos state and Nigeria as whole, he remains a recognized stakeholder since the formation of All Progressives Congress(APC) political party.
He has been a member of Asiwaju Grassroot Foundation(AGF) long before 2011 and he became the social Director of the group and he was later appointed as the Deputy National Coordinator North.
He is the National Coordinator of AGF since December 2018 till date.
Under the chairmanship of Barrister Ismail Ahmed, in the year 2014, comrade Teju was the state of Osun Coordinator of APYF and he was the first person in the history of progressive in Nigeria to organise a 1million man march rally for the re-election of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbeshola second term.
Not only that, in 2015, he participated in the primary elections in two states namely Kogi – as a member of appeal commitee and Ogun State, as returning officer.
In 2019, he participated as the State of Osun Coordinator for the Youth Camping Council of the Directorate of Youth Mobilizations of APC Presidential Campaign Council for President Muhamandu Buhari reelection and he played active roles on the victory of the party in general election in that year.
He is a mobilizer and a grassroots politician.
Teju Aregbe as being called by his associates and friends; is very consistent, committed, realistic, revolutionary, dynamic and courageous. Comrade who has touched people’s lives in a positive ways, is a friend to all and sundry without discrimination.
He is the publisher of Blazon Magazine and the Chief Executive Officer of Adulawo News; an online Television and prints media outfit, also, Managing Director Tejagro Nigeria Limited and Tee Table water.
He is, currently, the Personal Assistant to the Honourable Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.
He is happily married with children.
