Our this week public figure and African hero of people is Student Union Veteran, Renowned Community Leader, Successful Businessman, Christian Devout, Notable Philanthropist, former Chairman, ATISBO Local Government Area of Oyo-State and Member, House of Representatives(MHR) Candidate of the Accord Party (AP), for ATISBO, Saki East and Saki West Federal Constituency, Dr Jacob ‘Funmi Ogunmola.

Let’s meet Dr Jacob ‘Funmi Ogunmola.

The baby Jacob was born to the great family of Ogunmola in the ancient town of Ago-Are in Oke-Ogun Zone of Oyo-State.

The young Jacob Funmi Ogunmola had both of his primary and secondary education in Ago-Are, before proceeding to the then St. Andrew’s College of Education, now, Emmanuel Alayande College of Education, in the ancient city of Oyo Alaafin in the state.

His passion for education took him to Ogun-State University where he bagged Bsc. Accounting.

In his quest for more and advanced knowledge, Funmi Ogunmola headed to Lagos State University (LASU) for his post graduate course, (MBA).

AMONG HIS PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS:
While at various institutions of higher learning, among sensitive positions he occupied were Internal Auditor and General Secretary of the Student’s Union at the then St. Andrews’s College, Oyo and President of the Student Union at Ogun State University. And also, he was the President of MBA program, LASU. His contributions to the various campus associations had no equal. He donated 100KVA generator to the school on behalf of the MBA Students and facilitated other laudable projects to the citadels of learning.

Dr Funmi Ogunmola has been chairman of Beckley Estate Landlords/Residents Association in Lagos.

He was the Chairman, Welfare Committee and President, Men Fellowship at Redeemed Christian Church of God where he attends.

Between November 2012 till may 2015, he touched several lives of his people positively and empowered many as the Chairman, Transition Committee, ATISBO Local Government Area of the state.

Dr Jacob ‘Funmi Ogunmola is the founder of Ogunmola Foundation that has been empowering people of Oke Ogun for the past fifteen years.

He was conferred with the Honourary Doctorate Degree of Public Administration by the University of Business Technology, USA, in recognition of his immense contributions to business and education. Also, the institute of Business Technology Management of Nigeria consolidated that and awarded him professional designation of Fellow Certified Institute Management(FCIM) in recognition of his management career, leadership qualities and countless services to the humanity.

Award of Distinguished Achiever by the Federation of Oyo-State Students Union(FOSSU), 2013.
African Role Model Award, a Meritorious Award by the National Association of Oke-Ogun Students.
Philanthropist of the year by Oba ‘Jubril Oyesiji for and on behalf of Ago-Are community.
Merit Award by Oke-Ogun Patriotic Movement.
Local Government of the year Award for outstanding contribution to Grassroots Politics by Certified Institute of Management.

West African Student Union WASU, Kwame Nkrumah Leadship Award 2014.
NUT Award of Excellence November, 2014.
Institute of Chartered Portfolio Management(FCPM) Fellowship Award August, 2014.
NYSC Visionary Leadership Award
Best Poverty Fighter Award from Shiddy International Organisations’ Publishers of Point Blank Newspaper.
Child Dream Building Greater Leaders Award of Excellent Performance 2015.
NULGE Award of Excellence, 2015 among several others.

This year August, a new feather was added to his cap by Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), Ojokoro chapter of Lagos state who honoured and inducted him as patron during their “15 Anniversary Thanksgiving& Decorations of Patrons, Matrons, Grand Patrons and Pioneers”, which took place at Olorunsogo Baptist Church, Ojokoro, in recognition and appreciation of his contributions to christian body in Lagos state, by extension Southwest and Nigeria at large.

Hon. Funmi Ogunmola has traveled to several countries of the world including USA, London and South Africa, among others.

Dr Jacob Funmi Ogunmola is joyfully married to Mrs Oluremi Esther and the nuptial tie is blessed with beautiful and prosperous children.
