Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III :
Late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III (born 15 October 1938) was the Alaafin, the traditional ruler, of the Yoruba town of Oyo and rightful heir to the throne of its historic empire. He was arch monarch of Yoruba Land and custodian of Yoruba culture.

Coronation :
Oba Lamidi Adeyemi succeeded Alaafin Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II in 1970, during the governorship of Colonel Robert Adeyinka Adebayo, after the end of the Nigerian Civil War. In 1975, the head of state General Murtala Ramat Mohammed included Oba Adeyemi in his entourage to the hajj. His Majesty was chancellor of Uthman dan Fodiyo University in Sokoto from 1980 to 1992. In 1990, President Ibrahim Babangida appointed His Majesty Amir-ul-Hajj in recognition of his commitment to the consolidation of Islam in Nigeria.

His Majesty was married to Ayaba Abibat Adeyemi, his senior wife.

Kabiesi was a lover of boxing, as he was a boxer before ascending the throne of his fore fathers.
Kabiesi is the biological father of Hon. (Prince) Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi , Member, House of Representatives from Oyo Federal constituency and Kabiesi also gave birth to other illustrious sons and daughters who have made it in different fields of endeavors .
