Sir, you are among few people that we are very pleased and happy to call our leader, not as an honorary tittle put in place to massage your ego but as an appreciation of your generalship stance which has made you to understand leadership as a test, challenge and responsibility.

Sir, you a rare and born leader who has immensely influenced the cause of humanity and still doing so.

Sir, you a genuine and typical leader that the legendary Aristotle described as a philosopher-king that must rule an ideal state or the one that the Athenian Philosopher, Socrates called “He Who Knows”. Yes, you know the way, go the way and show the way, always.

Ogawa, based on our new personal philosophies, positivism and pacifism, we remain positive and peaceful, so, we will not write or speak to condemn some perceived psychopathic characters but we will always find means to celebrate angelic geniuses like you, sir.

Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye

Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye is a pro-democracy activist, politician, media and advertising professional. He is former Chairman, Oluyole Local Government, Idi-ayunre, Ibadan and the immediate past Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Oyo State Chapter.

Background
Born on August 12,1963 into the royal home of Olubadan Abass Aleshinloye in Isale Ijebu area of Ibadan. His great grand father, the patriarch of the Aleshinloye family was Oba Abass Okunola Aleshinloye, a wealthy Nigerian titled chief who became the baale and later Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Early Career

Aleshinloye started his primary education at Islamic Primary School in Olunloyo area of Ibadan and concluded it at St John’s Primary school in Ago Owu. His post primary education took him to St Patrick secondary school, Bashorun, and he ended it at the prestigious Loyola College in Ibadan. Ayodeji Abass’s quest for Tertiary education began at University of Ife now known as Obafemi Awolowo University where he studied Microbiology. He later went to the premier university in Nigeria, the University of Ibadan for a Post Graduate Diploma.

Work Experience
He was a science writer with African Concord, acting Circulation manager, African Concord, Protocol Officer and Liaison Officer, Concord football club, Lagos , Marketing Manager, University of Health Science, Antigua,(Uhsa), Africa office, General manager, Tentacles Communications, Lagos & Ibadan, Circulation Manager, Sketch Press LTD, Ibadan, Board Member, Oyo State Development Council, MD/CEO , Prime Reach LTD, Outdoor Advertising, Branding and Environmental Consultancy Outfit.

Political Career

Aleshinloye’s political career started in his student days at the Obafemi Awolowo University where he was elected as the Chairman of his Hall of residence, Adekunle Fajuyi Hall. In 1989,he became the president of his departmental association, the Microbiology Student Association. That same year he was elected the deputy speaker and later he bacame speaker of the student Union of the school in 1990. The annulment of the June 12, 1993general election believed to have been won by the late Chief MKO Abiola and the need to resist autocratic military rule was the needed tonic to bring out the activism in the Ibadan born prince. Being the national coordinator of the student wing of the Campaign Organization of MKO Abiola Which was named HOPE 93, he organized several peaceful rallies and protest across the country to push for the reinstatement of the winner of the election.
At the inception of the fourth republic in 1999, he joined the Alliance for Democracy and he was appointed by the late Governor of the state Alhaji Lam Adesina as the Chairman of Oyo State Youth Council (now Oyo State Agency for Youth Development). In 2011, Governor Abiola Ajimobi appointed him as the Caretaker Chairman of Oluyole Local Government and he was elected as the secretary of {Association of Local Governments in Nigeria} in Oyo State.

In 2018, he was elected as the Executive Chairman, Oluyole local government Idi-Ayunre and 2019, he became the Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria ALGON, Oyo state chapter.

Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye is a reliable, loyal , loving, passionate, simple but with strong character that you may mistakenly under estimate because of his simplicity. He exudes confidence and understanding always in circumstances that would have confused and distressed many.

Honours and Awards
He is a recipient of many awards both local and international. Among it is the grassroots implementer of good initiative award for implementing environmental and people oriented programs at his local government by UNESCO.

Now a member of All Progressive Congress (APC), Aleshinloye, married with children. He is widely traveled and he has participated in programmes on leadership, democracy and good governance in many countries including USA, South Africa, Libya, UAE, France, India, Indonesia and Netherlands.

On Saturday, April 10, 2021, Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye was honoured as the “Most Distinguished Ibadan Indigene(MDII)” by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes(CCII) at Obafemi Awolowo(Liberty) Stadium in Ibadan.
