Member representing Egbeda Ona-Ara Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on Works, Hon. Akin Alabi reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the quality and timely completion of all federal infrastructure projects across the country.

The statement followed an oversight inspection tour on Wednesday, where Hon. Alabi, alongside members of the Works Committee, visited key project sites to assess progress and compliance with standards.

The visit began along the Coastal Road at Chainage 14, where the lawmakers inspected the recently completed Shoreline Protection Works designed to curb coastal erosion and safeguard vulnerable communities in the area.

“As part of our oversight duties, we are committed to ensuring that every project undertaken by the Federal Ministry of Works delivers value to Nigerians. Quality and timely completion remain non-negotiable,” the statement read.

The inspection team also stopped at the Marina Shoreline, where reconstruction efforts are ongoing. According to the statement, Hon. Alabi commended the contractors for maintaining professionalism and sticking to the agreed project schedule.

“The level of professionalism and adherence to schedule here is commendable. We are optimistic that this project, once completed, will enhance the structural integrity and aesthetic value of the Marina corridor,” it added.

The tour concluded in Sagamu, Ogun State, where the committee inspected the Sagamu axis of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. Hon. Alabi, through his aide, praised the Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, for his dedication and oversight of critical infrastructure projects nationwide.

“I’m impressed with the quality and pace of work on this critical section of the expressway. Kudos to the minister and his team for their commitment to delivering world-class infrastructure,” the statement noted.

The Committee reiterated its readiness to sustain regular monitoring and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that ongoing federal projects meet international standards and are completed on schedule.
