RAMADAN: COMBAT Initiator, Sen Soji Akanbi Hosts Supporters to Iftar Dinner, Prays for Tinubu
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Senator Rilwan Adesoji Akanbi has, yesterday, hosted his supporters and lovers of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Iftar dinner, at his palatial residence, Jericho, in Ibadan.
Sen. Akanbi who thanked supporters for their unalloyed loyalty and massive supports during the last presidential polls, also, prayed for the former Lagos state Governor, Asiwaju Tinubu.
Spokesperson of the Young Academia of Oyo State, headquartered in The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Comrade Rahman Adefowope Adeleke(Teggar) saluted Sen.Akanbi’s courage and charismatic mode of leadership. He hinted the gathering on how the group massively mobilised voters for the president elect and he charged the former Oyo South Senator, Akanbi to remain pro-people and accessible, the way he is.
The influential politician and ally of Sen. Akanbi, Alhaji Yusuf Araromi, who spoke on behalf of political class stated that,”Like mentor like mentee. Like Akanbi Eko like Akanbi Ibadan. Indeed, our president elect is a rare breed and extraordinary helmsman. Luckily, our leader here, Sen. Soji Akanbi, also, took after him. Let’s thank Allah for the victory and let’s trust our leader. By His Grace, we shall all reap the fruits of our labour. Also, I use this medium to pray for Sen. Akanbi,”Warafanahu Mokanan Aliyan”.
Coordinator, Coalition Movement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu(COMBAT), United Kingdom(UK) Chapter, Prince Gboyega Aderolu (ROLU 1), who joined the meeting virtually appreciated all the supporters for the job well done. He celebrated COMBAT’s Initiator, Sen. Akanbi as blessing to humanity and exemplary leader.
Another Sen. Akanbi’s close ally, Hon. Dotun Olorundero reminisced many pro-Oyo state and pro-people agenda that Sen. Akanbi has championed for the state. He hailed his principal and prayed for God’s mercy upon him, always.
While responding, Senator Akanbi lauded the supporters in attendance.”On behalf of myself and our esteemed President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I sincerely appreciate you all. Indeed, you’ve done wonderfully well and I pray fervently that we shall all reap the fruits of our labour.
Akanbi, who, piously, posited maintained that,”All glories and adorations to Almighty God. Though, we seriously worked for the victory but let’s thank God for His mercy upon us. In fact, against all hurdles, my firm belief is that our victory at the polls is Grace of God. Even without hard work, Grace of God can still take you there but hard work without Grace of God is futility. So, Alhamdulilai Robili Alamin.
Sen. Akanbi hailed supporters for their encomia and prayers.”Thanks for your kind wishes and I’m humbled with your encomia. As you’ve mentioned, I’m an unrepentant pro-people thinker and I remain committed to serving humanity. Yes, as you’ve said, I brought railway line to Ibadan, Alakia Airport was renovated, there is gigantic building at UI, I reconstructed Late Sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s school, I facilitated 50Million naira soft loans for traders in the state and many others. It’s not by might but it’s by grace of God. Let’s thank Almighty and rest assured of my selfless service, always.
Akanbi used the avenue to address Nigerians;”Fellow citizens! Congratulations to us all, because our democracy is evolving and it is attaining the perfection of democratisation. Congratulations to us all because a genuine democrat and detribalised statesman, Asiwaju Tinubu is our president elect. As we all know, Asiwaju Tinubu is responsible and responsive. He’s tested and trusted. He’s capable and able. Let’s be optimistically hopeful, our days of bliss has come in Nigeria. Also, let’s all join hands together to wage war against enemies of our democracy who are campaigning for interim government. They’re nothing but bunch of anarchists, tyrants, bigots, racists, egomaniacs and felons. We must all reject them. Our nascent democracy must not die. Thanks.
People who also took turns to speak at the gathering were Mr Timothy Ajiboye, Dr Fantola Jubril, Mr Ganiyu Kabir Adewale, Adeniran Olanrewaju, Abdul Kabir and others. They respectively maintained that “our democracy is evolving and people are becoming more conscious, politically. They hailed the electoral process and charged governments, at all strata to empower masses.
Other eminent personalities in attendance were Chief Wasiu Ajimobi, Hon. Wale Murphy Olatunji, Hon. Akeem Hussein, Hon. Wasiu Rahman Olatunde, Hon. Akeem Olatunji, Comrade Toheeb Arogundade, Comrade Hamzat Hammed and Comrade Monsuru Adeyemo.
