Ramadan Mubarak: May the blessings of this season illuminate our hearts – Kayode Musibau Ojoogun felicitates Muslims
GREETINGS TO THE MUSLIM UMMAH ON RAMADAN 1446 AH.
Dr. Kayode Musibau Ojoogun has extended his warm greetings and heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah across Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, Oyo State, Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan 1446 AH.
In a statement personally signed by him, Dr. Ojoogun described Ramadan as a sacred period of reflection, spiritual renewal, and deep devotion to the Almighty Allah. He noted that the month, which begins with the sighting of the new moon, offers a unique opportunity for the faithful to practice self-discipline (Sawm), engage in increased charity (Zakat and Sadaqah), and foster a sense of community (Ummah).
“As our Muslim brothers and sisters begin this 30-day journey of fasting and prayer, I join them in spirit, praying for the strength and divine guidance to complete this noble act of worship,” the statement read. “Ramadan is not merely a period of abstinence from food and drink; it is a comprehensive exercise in purification of the soul, patience, and empathy for the less privileged.”
Dr. Ojoogun urged all Muslims to utilise this period to pray for the peace, unity, and development of our dear country. He emphasised the importance of the virtues taught during Ramadan—compassion, forgiveness, and generosity—and encouraged the faithful to carry these lessons beyond the holy month.
“In these challenging times, the prayers of the faithful are most needed,” Dr. Ojoogun added. “May the blessings of this season illuminate our hearts, strengthen our bonds of brotherhood, and bring us closer to achieving a just and prosperous society.”
Ojoogun wished the Muslim community a spiritually fulfilling and rewarding Ramadan, praying that their supplications and sacrifices are accepted by the Almighty (Allah).
