RAMADAN: Senator-elect, Dr Yunus Akintunde Greets Muslim Faithful
RAMADAN 2023: Dr Akintunde Greets Constituents, Preaches Peace, Unity . Organizes Ramadan Radio Program.
Senator-Elect in Oyo Central Senatorial District, Dr Yunus Abiodun Akintunde has wished all Muslims a happy and blessed Ramadan.
Dr Akintunde urged Muslims and the people of his district to use the Ramadan period to pray for unity, peace, prosperity, and general well-being of the people of Oyo state.
In a goodwill message to his constituents, Dr. Yunus Akintunde stated the Ramadan should serve as period of reflection to everyone on the common values of harmony, empathy and humanity.
Akintunde explained that the period provided Muslim Ummah an opportunity to renew their faith in almighty Allah through worship and adherence to the teachings of the Holy Quran.
“Ramadan is a month of reverence, generosity, and self-reflection. Most importantly, it is a cherished time for family and friends to gather and give charity to those who are less fortunate.”
“Ramadan is the month in which the Qur’an, the Holy book of Islam, was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the angel Jibreel (Gabriel) in A.D. 610. The timing of revelation is given special significance and is known as Laylatul Qadr or the Night of Power.
Ramadan teaches the Muslims to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat)
As a way of commemorating this year’s RAMADAN, Sen Dr Yunus Akintunde will be sponsoring a radio program on Yes fm 101.7fm At exactly 6:50pm till 7pm daily uninterrupted in laying emphasis on Islamic teachings
