Ramadan: Senator Yunus Akintunde Extends Heartfelt Wishes to Muslims

“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous.” (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:183)

‘During this sacred month of Ramadan, let us exemplify love and kindness and offer prayers for Nigeria’.

Ramadan fasting is a time for exceptional piety, kindness, and generosity towards our fellow human beings.

Senator Yunus Akintunde urged the Muslim Ummah to uphold the tenets of the Islamic faith, especially during this blessed period, as commanded by Allah in the Holy Quran.

In a statement issued by Kunle Olatunji, the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Senator Akintunde, emphasis is placed on the importance of consistently embodying kindness and generosity, which are inherent qualities of faithful adherents of Islam.

The Ramadan fasting period serves as a reminder of the fundamental Islamic principles for all Muslims.

He also encouraged the Ummah to remember our beloved nation, Nigeria, as they offer prayers during the holy month of Ramadan, which Allah considers very special and unique.

“Piety, love, and kindness should be our natural inclinations as adherents of the Islamic faith. This period of fasting only emphasised our commitment to the teachings of Islam as a constant reminder to submit to the will of Almighty Allah.”

He prayed that “Almighty Allah will continue to guide and bless all believers who have the grace to observe this Islamic injunction as commanded by Allah in the Holy Quran. He also encouraged those who, due to valid reasons, cannot partake in the fasting period, to sustain their faith through prayers and adherence to the tenets of the faith.

“I strongly believe in the power of prayers as a critical support for human endeavors. It is a collective responsibility for everyone to pray for the government to seek Allah’s guidance and divine benevolence.” Therefore, we must maximise the benefits of the Ramadan fasting period to pray for Nigeria and its leadership.”

A series of lectures have been scheduled by Senator Akintunde at specific prayer hours on selected radio stations across Oyo State, where fundamental Islamic teachings by renowned scholars will be aired throughout the Ramadan fasting period.
