Ramadan&Lent: Adelabu Urges Prayers for Nigeria, President Tinubu

The Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has extended warm greetings to Muslim and Christian faithful as the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent commence, calling on Nigerians to use the sacred periods to fervently pray for the peace, unity, and progress of the nation.

In a statement made available to journalists through his aide comrade, Femi Awogboro, Adelabu congratulated Muslims on the beginning of Ramadan and Christians on the observance of Lent, describing the concurrent spiritual exercises as a unique moment of reflection, sacrifice, and renewed commitment to God and humanity.

Adelabu emphasised that both Ramadan and Lent symbolise discipline, self-denial, compassion, and devotion, virtues he said are urgently needed in Nigeria’s collective journey toward national renewal.

According to Adelabu, the spiritual atmosphere presents an opportunity for citizens to rededicate themselves to righteousness, peaceful coexistence, and nation-building.

The minister urged the faithful to pray especially for Nigeria’s leaders at all levels, and most importantly for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as he works to reposition the country and renew the hope of the masses.

Adelabu appealed that the Good Lord should guide, strengthen, and continually lead the President with wisdom and courage in steering the affairs of the nation.

Adelabu further called on residents of Oyo State and Nigerians at large to embrace love, tolerance, and unity beyond ethnic, religious, and political lines. He stressed that sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and mutual respect, noting that religious observances should inspire citizens to be more patient, charitable, and law-abiding.

Speaking on the socio-economic challenges facing the country, Adelabu encouraged Nigerians not to lose faith in the nation’s future. He reaffirmed that ongoing reforms are aimed at laying a solid foundation for long-term growth and stability, urging citizens to support government efforts through constructive engagement and responsible conduct.

Adelabu also advised religious leaders to use their pulpits and platforms to preach messages of hope, moral uprightness, and national unity. He maintained that faith-based institutions play a critical role in shaping values and fostering social harmony, particularly during sacred seasons such as Ramadan and Lent.

While wishing Muslims a peaceful and spiritually fulfilling Ramadan and Christians a reflective and impactful Lenten season, Adelabu prayed that the period would usher in renewed strength, divine mercy, and abundant blessings for Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole. He expressed optimism that through prayer, sacrifice, and collective responsibility, the nation will emerge stronger and more prosperous.
