REGRET OR REAPPRAISAL

Regret is the feeling of sadness, sorrow or disappointment over an event or something that one has done or failed to do. It is a distress of the mind. A lot of people beat themselves down because of something they did not do or something they did wrong. We often wish that things will go different or as planned, so when they do not tally with our expectations, we tend to opt for regrets.

Reappraisal is the act of evaluating the amount, value or significance of a thing or event in order to assess its worth and importance again. It involves a careful analysis of the things we channel our energy into and making a reconsideration in order to decide whether it needs to be changed or not. Going by the explanation on reappraisal, it is then necessary that we do a regular reappraisal on our short, mid and long term goals, vision and activities.

Instead of regrets, reappraise. It is just too early for regret of any kind. If the past cannot be sorted, forget it. Be deliberate about the present and keep your dreams alive. Then, to avoid any future regret, make flexible plans and be prepared for contingencies. Also be at your best at all time and maximize every opportunity to be better, happy, productive and proactive, without bearing hurts, grudges or inhibiting on anyone’s happiness, space or rights. Do your best and leave the rest. Happy New Month to you.
