S’Court Verdict: I Must Commend Prince Aleshinloye and His Team –

Former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), in Oyo state, Hon Yekeen Popoola, from Irepo Local Government Area of the state, has saluted the doggedness and perseverance of the council chairmen, in the state, under the watch of Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye for choosing a path of honour, in pursuing the mandate freely given to them by the people of their respective local councils, but which was forcefully and illegally hijacked from them by the current PDP led administration in the state.
“I must commend Prince Aleshinloye and his team for their doggedness, sincerity of purpose, perseverance and commitments to matured ways of fighting a battle in a democratic setting, because it takes mercies and glory of Almighty Allah to be able to pursue this kind of case up to supreme court without any scar”, Popoola stated.
“The council chairmen did not allow the matter to shatter the peace and security bequeathed to the state by our late Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, He is worthy to be praised. They showed that the team is really progressive, advocating rule of law and law-abiding because many occasions, they have been tempted to resort to violence, subjected to several emotional and physical harassment but instead, they chose the best way to argue their matter out in a peaceful manner.
He maintained that Senator Abiola in his grave will be very happy with them that they didn’t fall for the antics of set of people who are working day and night to rubbish the peace and security he gave to Oyo state as governor of the state.
Popoola further reiterated that, “as rough as the journey to the supreme court was, these people remained calm despite barrage of frustrations and bubby traps put on their way. In fact, they have proven to the whole humanity that integrity serves every purpose as they refused to be bought and are not ready to be stampeded, but rather stayed focus, which beneath what our party APC stands for.
Popoola stated stated that, “the council chairmen are the heroes of Oyo APC because the people of the state have realized where they got it wrong. The public have seen that if it is other political party that was illegally treated like this, there is tendency to meet illegality with illegality to get back what belongs to them but Aleshinloye’s team ignored the temptations and preserved the face of the APC. Today our party in the state is a new bride waiting to be taken to altar comes 2023. People are eagerly waiting to court APC again due to the decorum exhibited by these ambassadors led by Aleshinloye.
Popoola reminisced his working relationship with current Oyo ALGON Chair, Prince Abass Aleshinloye under late Senator Ajimobi’s government.
Africano Trumpeters Newspaper recalled that Prince Ayodeji Abass Aleshinloye was the Secretary to Hon Yekeen Popoola as ALGON chairman for years during the reign of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi in the state.
