Senator Alli Pays Tribute to Sheik Murthada Agbotomokekere
Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has mourned the death of Fadilat Sheikh Murthada Abubakry Gaata Agbotomokekere.
This is contained in a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Mr Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan.
Sheikh Murthada Abubakry, a revered figure in the Islamic community, died on Tuesday, February 13, upon his return from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where had observed the lesser Hajj.
Senator Alli expressed heartfelt and deepest condolences to the Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Sheikh AbdulGaniy Abubakry, following the passing of his brother.
He described the news of the late Murthada’s death as a rude shock and great loss to the Muslim community in Oyo State as well as Nigeria.
The lawmaker said that the late Abubakry’s dedication and contributions to the spiritual well-being of many have left indelible mark on those who knew him.
“In times of sorrow and loss, gestures of support and empathy serve as a source of comfort and strength, reminding us of the bonds of compassion that unite us in moments of grief.
“The passing of Sheikh Murthada Abubakry serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the inevitability of mortality, prompting reflection on the legacy of love, kindness, and wisdom that he leaves behind.
“His spiritual journey and dedication to Islam have left an enduring impact on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be cherished by all who were touched by his teachings and guidance,”he said.
He expressed sympathy with the grieving family and the wider Islamic community in Ibadanland.
Alli prayed that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul Al-Jannat Firdaos.
