Seyi Tinubu Inaugurates RTIFN State Coordinators, Urges Commitment to ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’

The founder-in-chief of the pro-administration advocacy group, Relax! Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria (RTIFN), Mr Seyi Tinubu, has presided over the official inauguration of state coordinators of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s support group at a high-profile ceremony held in Abuja on Wednesday.

The event marked a key milestone in the group’s expansion, formalising the appointment of coordinators across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

RTIFN, a youth-focused movement, aims to bridge the gap between the federal government and citizens by disseminating accurate information on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, countering misinformation, and encouraging Nigerians to “relax” amid ongoing economic reforms while trusting in the administration’s vision for national progress.

In his welcome address, National Coordinator Hon. Ahmed Bala welcomed attendees and conveyed a message from Seyi Tinubu, who was unable to attend in person due to prior commitments. He stated, “Before we continue, I wish to convey a message on behalf of our Founder-in-Chief, Barrister Seyi Tinubu, who sends his heartfelt apologies for not being able to attend in person due to unavoidable commitments. He extends his warm regards and full support for today’s event and expresses deep gratitude for your dedication.”

Hon. Bala described the coordinators as the backbone of the organisation, saying, “The coordinators appointed across the various states form the backbone of our operational network. Each of you represents a vital link between our national vision and the communities we aim to reach. Your responsibilities are important, your roles significant, and your commitment deeply appreciated.”

He added, “As state coordinators, you hold positions of trust. You are expected to uphold the values of this organisation, ensure effective communication, foster collaboration, and provide direction within your respective states. Your leadership will determine not only the strength of our structure but also the unity and effectiveness of our collective efforts.”

“As we embark on this new chapter, let us do so with dedication, integrity, and a shared commitment to meaningful service. By working together with focus and purpose, we can build stronger systems, nurture teamwork, and contribute positively to the continued growth of our nation under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he concluded.

Speaking to journalists during the event, the matron of the group and former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Hajiya Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, who represented Seyi Tinubu, explained the group’s name and mission. She said, “Fixing means a continuous activity. Not as fixed. We are believers in the action of Mr President, in the renewed hope agenda, and in the policies that have been brought, because we know and we are seeing the changes.”

Highlighting key reforms, she stated, “Removal of that subsidy was for the courageous, and he did. Just like the man of many firsts that he is. He came in again quickly and touched on so many other things that are, you know, reforms, like the tax reform, like also the dollar. As you can see today, it is crashing against the Naira. Then, if you look into the market, you have food prices coming down. We did not say it has come down. So it is in process.

She continued, “If we all unite behind the renewed hope agenda and believe in the agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu… there will be light for Nigeria. You can see just what we witnessed in Davos. Nigeria just got, you know, its first building there. If you see the recognition given to Nigeria there, what does that mean? Nigeria is beginning to take its rightful place amongst the comity of nations.”

On the group’s role, Hajiya Ramatu emphasised, “We put ourselves together to say, ‘Okay, we will serve as a bridge between the president, between the leadership, between the top, and the downtrodden and the Nigerian people.’ To what? Disseminate information… to disseminate proper information, to go with manuals and pamphlets of what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda have been able to do, to show them practically.”

Using an analogy, she explained, “A lady conceives, and she’s pregnant. That journey is a nine-month journey… But there’s no labour without pain. Then when we come to bear our children, these are the Nigerians… The man will be restless. The woman will be in pain. But then the sweet joy comes. That is the baby. I want us to perceive the mission and the vision of the Renewed Hope agenda as that. That means definitely we must feel the pain of nation building, of nation reconstruction, of redefining Nigeria into the Nigeria of our dreams.”

She urged patience, saying, “So we tell them, ‘Relax! Tinubu is fixing Nigeria.’”

Addressing what sets RTIFN apart, she said, “The group, we act as an ambassador. The group, we connect the poor with the rich. We bring succour to the downtrodden… Wherever it is, the group can connect because there are many hard-working people in the group… We are here to pacify you. We are here to enlighten you. We are here to cushion the effect, you know, of what the policies have brought to you.”

To the newly inaugurated coordinators, her message was “to uphold the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to uphold selfless service, to uphold the unity of Nigeria… They must be empathetic. They must go down. They must be close to the downtrodden. They are the gap bridgers… They must serve with all diligence, commitment to duty, commitment to purpose, sincerity of purpose and humility like none before.”

Also, the National Secretary, Dr Felix O. Arome, speaking to the press, described RTIFN as a youth-based organisation focused on countering misinformation. He said, “RELAX TINUBU is Fixing Nigeria is a youth-based organisation that is meant to stand in the gap, to ensure that misinformation does not derail the good work of the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

He added, “It’s basically about passion for country. We do not have any other home to call us; this is our country… This is a time for Nigerians, most especially the youth… to take the bull by the horn, to stand by the leadership. The macroeconomic policies of the President are tailored towards building the future for us.”

On the need for accurate information, Dr Arome noted, “The essence of this group is to make sure that we go out humbly with humanity at the back of our minds to disseminate information that can illuminate people properly. A lot of people are misinformed… We are not misaligned with the situation of the country. We know that to get it right, to get to the promised land, you have to go through a rigorous journey.”

The official charge and oath of office were administered to the coordinators by Tijani on behalf of Seyi. This was followed by a briefing on the organisational hierarchy and reporting lines presented by National Secretary Dr Felix.

The ceremony, which was graced by Senator representing the Imo West (Orlu) constituency of Imo State, Osita Izunaso, and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Student and Youth Engagement, Comrade Sunday Asefon, included an interactive session for announcements and any other business and a vote of thanks by the Deputy National Coordinator, who is a Nollywood veteran, Mr Zack Orji.

The group’s membership includes House of Representatives members, former governorship candidates, and other prominent political figures. The group said it will continue to expand its structure at state, local government, and grassroots levels to support public enlightenment and engagement with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
