SUSPENSION OF DAILY CONGREGATIONAL PRAYERS AND OTHER SOCIAL GATHERINGS

CoronaVirusDisease 2019 (COVID-19), a disease caused by a novel coronavirus called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS CoV-2) was on March 11, 2020 declared by WHO a Global Pandemic

Since then, the scourge has recorded catastrophic spread all over the world.
Quite unfortunately, the case of a UK returnee in Bodija tested positive. The disease had earlier been reported in Lagos and FCT.

The need then arose to take precautionary measures to avert the virus making its way into our midst.

Prevention, they say, is better than cure.

We had consultations with:
i. Board of Trustees(males and females);
ii.Council of Elders (males and females);
iii Board of Religious Affairs;
iv. Executive Committee and
v. Some Medicare experts
who are members of the
Community.
Also, Oyo State Government issued an Advisory asking residents to avoid gatherings of more than 30 persons, including religious ones; and that people should stay in their homes and pray individually.

In line with these, it is on behalf of the Trustees, Elders, BORA, Executive Committee and the entire membership of The Commnity that I convey to you the unanimous decision that the FIVE DAILY CONGREGATIONAL PRAYERS, alongside JUMU’AH PRAYERS and OTHER GATHERINGS OF OVER 30 PERSONS be SUSPENDED INDEFINITELY at the Bodija Estate Mosque and Islamic Centre

Let us pray in our homes

Members are also implored to adhere strictly to all Safety Rules as may be enunciated by Governments and Health Professionals. We should also remember to supplicate regularly to our Creator to save us from COVID-19 and all other calamities.

May Almighty Allah (SWT) save us and heal the world, Aamin
